Manipulated games

Have any of you realized that from Marshal rank onwards, many battles are actually rigged by a connected group of heavy druggers?

The flow of battle is likely to be in the following structure.

1. A team, say red team, is winning by a considerable margin (more than 4-0) with about 10 minutes left. This entices clueless players to join the red side.

2. Upon reaching the 10 minute mark, the red team will realize that 4 to 5 red score leaders leave the game. They join the opposing blue team altogether.

3. Those players who switch sides appear to be heavy druggers or clan mates. They help the opponent make a huge comeback in the end by endless drugging.

As seen from above, high rank battles are unfair and rigged. Normal players cannot play comfortably as they fear they may fall into the trap. Therefore, don't be so sure that you can grab the final victory when you choose to join a battle with a huge inital leading flag difference. I am also looking forward to the matchmaking system which minimizes the chance of manipulated battles :)

Yeah, druggers are one of the reasons I play on my alt now.

The game is full of errors anyway so tense battles are not an option currently.

I don't play enough to play PRO battles right now, passes are pretty expensive if you don't make use of them.

Hopefully the HTML5 migration will solve these massive amounts of errors so I can get into some nice PRO battles again with Smoky an Shaft.

I remember a battle in Silence CTF long ago. Our team was crushing the opposition and after 8 minutes of battle we were leading 6-0. With only 7 minutes before the end of the battle the guy on the second place switched sides. After that he kindly asked me to do the same. I was the first in my team, but I gave it a try. In theory it was a 10v10 battle but the reality was quite different. We had 3 hard working players desperetely attacking and 1 dedicated defender that made sure nobody could take our flag. The comeback was on. We've manage to get a narrow win after capping 1 flag each minute and the battle ended 7-6.

Some people do it as an organized group. We did it just to have some fun. We put ourselves to a test and enjoyed it. Winning a battle 10-0 is quite lame after all...

This is the reason why I only play DMs nowadays. If you sucked, then there's nobody to blame but yourself.

CTFs are iffy and one-sided in higher ranks nowadays.

I don't see any problem with this. I actually think that it's a good thing to switch sides when you see that your team is winning by a great margin. Besides, if those 4-5 players switched sides and won, then it simply means that your team wasn't good enough to stand up against them, making it a fair victory for them. Yes, you can argue that they only won because they had better gear and more supplies, but unfortunately that's how the game works at the moment.

The matchmaking system should solve this issue. Devs said that if a team of 5 players queues up for a game, they will be put into a battle against another team of players, who will also have good communication, a lot of supplies and high MUs. Whereas if you, a single player, will queue up for a battle, you will be put into a game with other players such as yourself, and what's great is that they will have a similar Efficiency rating, making them a fair opponent of very similar strength to your own.
