Rank of players to become a moderator

Recommended Posts

Players beginning from Master Sergent  should have the freedom to become a moderator.

Reasons for my say-

* Players from this rank have the ability to chat

* Players from Captain or Warrant Officer 4 or above cant enter their battles to see their chats

* Players above the age of 18 or 18 will start making new accounts once they reach legend and this helps the       administrators a lot to help them because they could keep on reporting the obsrtructions and the violence of the players

* When players have reached their level of chatting then they start using violence from that time ownwards

* Another is that many players have made TANKI chat a dating site the players from Sergent onwards usually does it.So the players from The level of Master Sergent or above can  only mostly report it because llegends and captains mostly wont be able to play in their battles.

These are all the points I have to mention. I request the moderators and administrators to take this appeal as a serious one.

Thank you for your idea. Unfortunately, I've to decline it.

Two of the main reasons why players have to pass a certain minimum rank before they may apply for the chat moderators job, is that

  1. the moderator administration needs to look back at the candidates track records (karma, ..) in order to filter out immature people
  2. chat moderators are often asked for help of a various amount of topics and they simply can give better answers if they are in the game for more then 20 hours.

Both aspects are very important, and can not be skipped.

Chat moderators moderate also the servers with the low ranks you mentioned. There are simply not so many of them.. that's the main reason if you have the feeling that there are non at all. Besides I would bet, that 90% of the chat mods do have low rank alternative accounts anyways.. so if they spot an violator, they can login with their main account as well and handle the situation.

When it comes to chat moderators - they mostly work in server chats. It is a better use of their time as they can help more players and generally be more useful. As for in-battle chat violations - you are encouraged to use the ignore feature and block anyone, whose words insult or offend you in any way.

When it comes to battle violations (hacking, sabotage, etc.) - the battle moderators have Spectator mode, with which they can enter absolutely any battle, even if it's full and/pr their rank is too high. So there is no need for low rank moderators here.

Reducing the rank requirement would have a terrible effect on the quality of moderators. Low ranks are inexperienced and they don't know all the details about the game, so they wouldn't be very helpful. That's why there it a rank restriction.

No, they should look at karma to work out whether a player is tolerant or not.

It doesn't filter out immature people at all. I know plenty of fairly immature people with almost clean karmas, simply because they joke around but never actually break any rules (except the occasional flood etc).

sorry, but I do not get the meaning of your first sentence. What do you like to tell?

regarding the filtering of immature people it works; but it works the other way around: if you find someone with a deep red karma record, you would not trust him to be a character mature enough to be a chat mod.

I don't think English is your first language, am I right?

Yes, of course a player with a terrible karma will doubtless have bad characteristics and should not be accepted as a Moderator. However, it does not necessarily "filter" the immature people out of the equation (my example above).

You know, looking back at my first post, I'm not making a great deal of sense either in that first sentence.

Too much coffee and not enough sleep.

You're right, English is not my first language.. and I still have to improve :)

When I think of "a filter", then it does not define a single solution to drop all sorts of stuff in, and let only the desired ones pass through. I think of a filter more of one stage in a setup of multiple stages.. like they are used in water purification systems, or in IT, or in other technical applications and systems.

The karma criteria is one of many, and it works like a low-pass filter: if your karma is below a certain threshhold ( = good enough), then you pass this stage, else wise you get declined. But passing this first stage only means, that you will face the next filter (like someone who checks your latest 50 posts on the forum, manually). A third stage could be to ask some trustworthy people if they know you.. and if yes, what they think about you.

But anyways, I think we are on the same page already ;)
