Add Maps to Non-Pro-Battles.

Add maps which are unpopular to non pro battles. The Match making system doesn't make sense if there arent unpopular maps. Maps like Monte Carlo, Gravity should be added to non pro battles or just bring back the old battle creation system.

Maps are unpopular for multiple reasons.. and most of them can be summed up in two main cathegories

- players don't like them (because of balance issues, map size, not fitting turrets, too much camping spots = non-dynamic  gameplay, ...)

- the maps are not efficient to grind (too few funds per time unit spend there)

 

By your proposal you solve none of this main issues, while you propose to force the players to play in a environment which most of them percieve as non convenient (else they would play there anyways). So it would do no good.

In the rules of the I&S section it is also written, that we do not accept ideas bring back old features.

Yeah, I would like Monte Carlo in regular battles, would improve player's sleight. Monte Carlo is not there because (of course) there are more skilled players (campers) who would take-over battles against noobs "popular newbies" which you can find in regular battles. I actually played one regular Gravity CP battle yesterday, it is there. For many other great, least-played maps, I feel sad - Valley, Subway, Farm, Duality, Boombox and my lovely Berlin which I loved to play as a newbie to this game.

 

But we all know - there is a very little chance that you would find a good 10v10 CTF match on our legendary map, Rio.

 

My idea is to increase chances of greater maps of being created with the match-making system. Let's say - 3 Rio CTF battles (WO~Major~Marshal ranks) per server. Also, bring us Night-mode in regular battles - it would be interesting to everyone who didn't play already (and will never play probably) in such battles.

 

And some servers are still being full while other almost empty.  :)

Firebird, Freeze and Hammer won't do that well in maps like Monte Carlo, Berline, Dusseldorf, Madness etc., so they won't add these maps.

 

It would be nice if in our settings we could add rankings to each map, and then under matchmaking, system will take into favourite maps of all the players queued up and take that into account when creating a new battle.

When I was a noob a lot of people played monte carlo.

But it seems to be a very specific map, where only a few kind of tankers can do well - it is mainly for sniper duels. A few close rangers can have some bright moments too, but those players that achieve that are pretty rare (not every close range rusher is a good sneaker).

 

It will not work that well for non-pro, especially not if the maps are filled to the max and you run short on walls to hide and so get shot from all directions simultaneously.

Monte-Carlo is a fun map, but it's weird and doesn't really fit in. The reason is pretty obvious: it was originally made as a race track for the "Race mode", which never got added. Or maybe it was just some race event.

 

Either way, it's an unconventional map that is likely to confuse players, which is why it was limited to PRO battles only.
