Tanki going too harsh?

Recommended Posts

If the minority needs less mods then tough luck

Lol, I got what you implied their :p ..nvm..

But I still feel too much moderation is a cause of build up of unnecessary rage..

Nah, in most cases we warn or give short ban durations to players to allow them to cool down and understand during that period that they shouldn't completely lose it in some online game. We even understand when someone is frustrated because of the lag or connection errors and do try to be more lenient towards them. But we simply cannot allow major offences and blatant disregard of the common rules of the behaviour, nor we're going to tolerate those who are searching for ways to provoke others and build negativity in the chat.

what i dislike the most about mods is their inconsistency

if a low ranker uses the word 'stupid' in chat, he gets a ban, but legends get away with it, probably because they are friends with the mods.

this is totally not fair, some people get preferential treatment, while others get harsh treatment, for exactly the same actions

This clean karma thingy for chat mod applications is ridiculous. Mst of us have been banned at least once for CAPS LOCK. So the amount of candidates who can apply are very few.

You need to be less strict on those application rules.

(The rank thingy is ridiculous too. There are better lower ranked candidates than higher ranked candys sometimes)

How can you enforce the rules if you can't follow them yourself?

Chat moderation is a job that should be taken seriously, not everyone who applies can be a chat moderator, due to various reasons - that's why certain requirements take place.

Rank / For how long have you been playing the game = your overall experience.

I'm not working on this field but I'm sure this answers your question.

probably because they are friends with the mods.

Is that why I never get warning points anymore  ?

Ok, on a more serious note: Not all mods are the same. All mods have different mind for example Ostrica bans everyone because he/she/it is a potato so it has no mind. Just log on when no mods are online

I see it from the other side , of most of the comments here , seeing that chat mods have been doing a great job , but what I find is we have too many forum mods, now. seeing there is less players using it , and we also have other mods who also help do there job . so lets cut back on forum mods and also lighten up on some of the rules like flooding we can't even post things and have fun when we do it seems like we're back in grade school and being told don't do this or that its why most older players have left , were not kids we stick to the main rules but flooding is way too over strict and needs to be given more freedom , sure if there is like 5 postings right after another then I can see the rules being in place but 3 postings should not be called flooding. . so why do have it in place...

We discussed this at least million times: every ban depends on the situation, context, intent, ban history... So while someone gets a warn, the other gets a ban or when someone gets a day ban, the other gets 6 months for seemingly the same offence. The ban duration depends on multiple factors, it has nothing to do with any "friends" or "unfair treatment".

of course no mod will ever admit unfair treatment

the discussion you mention is just a monologue, a monotonous robotic response: PM Cedric, contact Help Desk, blah blah blah

give the community the power to choose the mod among all the helpers

everyone here is not a kid, we can choose wisely

show full context and tell me what the offence was and who gave the ban

We don't share any private info. Sorry.

This is not the place to write about your bans or request for your karma, nor discuss about helpers/ specific helper's works. Please avoid discussing about those in public, and if you have any complaints about moderators/ Administrators work, PM their respective administrators and for admins contact the community manager @Cedric Debono. Thank you. @ToiIetPaper_BS, I guess me and my colleague Ostrica have answered all your questions, so we may close this topic now?.
