What movie(s) best portrays the future in 50 years?

Estimated of course: Day after tomarrow ( global warming) wall-E (fat people who can't live on earth because of so much trash) though in 100 years, the earth will warm up so much, it will melt the polar ice caps, rise sea levels (drowning beaches) and some places will be inhabitable because of its heat.

What is our future?

No idea being I haven't watched many apocalypse movies but if you include Video Games into it I'd say CoD Ghosts is an actual possibility (the Odin is a real weapon that Russia wanted to launch back during the Cold War except instead of giant metal rod they wanted nukes)

Ice will melt releasing all the methane that's been under the ice since forever.

And since the greenhouse effect of methane is 20 times stronger than CO2, it'll accelerate the climate change.

Ohh lol, but atleast we have oil.

And there'll be more storms and stuff so I guess that's more exciting than plain boring rain.

The global warming we are causing will indeed melt polar ice caps. But what some scientists think, is that the extra water released due to this melting will dilute the salt/other impurities content in the water, thus increasing its freezing point. Because of that, a lot of water might freeze back, and the white colour of the ice might reflect back enough warmth from the sun to throw us into an ice age.

But the chances of that happening is low, so don't give yourself this excuse when you choose to drive rather than cycle or walk.

I think our future will rely on hydronic cars, fast refill, no polution. Electric is reliable but takes a while to recharge. Maybe 1 day we'll make a power cell we could just switch out instead of charging

I was thinking, how about making solar power stations that convert the solar power into electricity, and then use it to electrolyse water and produce hydrogen to power cars? The problem with electric battery powered cars is, the electricity cannot be used at a fast and sufficient rate to produce speed. Hydrogen as a fuel is very efficient, and produces lots of energy.

Well, Oxygen comes from the air, binds with hydrogen to make water and energy. That's how hydrogen cars work. We can't keep going with extracting fossil fuels from the earth, we have to change

If you talk about pollution, and polar caps melting etc. we already have all the solutions for renewable forms of energy.

But dont expect things to get any better as long as the petrol and arms lobby control governments and the west uses "terrorism" as an excuse to bombard the middle east for their oil.

True, money makes corruptness. I agree with the giver, in a future, where the government controls the people, but that would be a boring world. What the hell does that say Ariel? Edited by Agent101us

Definitely the movie 'Life' (Ryan Reynolds, Rebecca Ferguson, Jake Gyllenhaal)

This movie might have been good if it came out before Alien. But it is totally parallel.

I don't think the world will survive 100 years. Too many uneducated people. And wars are breaking out. But hey, back to your super jolly fun topic :) I think After Earth will best portray the future:)
