Dictator is terrible. I didn't notice viking has same health now.

Notice Hunter m2 has higher health than Dictator like WTF. Hunter Viking and Dictator has the same armour at m3?????? Tanki is forcing us to buy the fugly Hunter that nobody bought.Poor Dictator. As the poster of this topic said tanki is making us buy Only Hunter,Wasp and Titan. Untill the alteration update comes Hulls are the most unbalanced apsect of the current game.

Hunter, viking and dictator have same HP. Same with wasp and hornet, and mammoth and titan.

Viking, before the rebalance update of october 2016, it used to be the most balanced hull in the game because it had the weight and pushing power. After the update, it lost all that and the speed is just another nerf. It's only benefit nowadays is the decent health and the good looks.

I hated the "make Viking and Hunter more comparable" update. Now Viking is just a slightly inferior Hunter with a flat body.

Being much faster and having a low profile while maintain the same HP pool is "slightly inferior?" I think it is the other way around. But you are right, is it a stupid update.

Well, yes, but my main point was that before that update they were different enough that they had their niches. Now they might as well be alternate skins of one another. Going by statistics alone, the only thing Viking has over Hunter is speed. Which is the POLAR OPPOSITE of what they were!

It's just a little bit frustrating when I preferred the older, more defensively oriented Viking over a much more expensive, later to upgrade, speedier Hunter, but then they swapped the two without any rime or reason! At least during the economy rebalance, they refunded everything and, y'know, didn't dump it on everyone needlessly.

Thunder got a huge nerf.. I remember back in 2013 it used to be very OP with huge damage per shot and faster reload.

Mammoth also got a big nerf it is worse in every way at the moment compared to titan.

But one of the biggest nerfs happened to dictator, they cut of a Huge chunk of health and only gave 1 mps speed to compensate for it.

I want to go back to 2013 (where hackers rule and selected turrets were very OP)

I would rather go to 2014, where light hulls were light hulls and heavy hulls were heavy hulls and every turret was balanced in its own way.

Viking doesn't do well with speed. Speed mainly equals more knock back to it. It lost its most important stat, it's stability.

First of all, think of Viking as the old Hunter, because that's what it is.

Second, explain why stability is useful for a fast hull. (I am not talking about Wasp fast, obviously it is necessary at those speeds.)

Well, first of all, Viking wasn't supposed to be a fast hull, if it was, then it's literally a hornet. Hunter doesn't need the stability, since it just makes it OP. But Viking MUST have it in order to perform well in battle. If it doesn't have the stability, then the user must drug a lot to perform decently in battle. It's common sense. Besides Viking is slightly longer and wider than hunter.

wat.

Viking is the fastest of all mediums, and since it's faster than M0 Hornet at the M3 level I'd say it's a mixture of a light and medium.

Explain why Hunter doesn't need stability. If it didn't have stability it would have no redeeming factors whatsoever (no speed, no stability, same HP as the rest of the mediums).

Second, explain why Viking needs stability, and what drugging has anything to do with the stability of a hull.

Also the roles of Viking and Hunter were switched in 2016 re-balance . . . so you can't really apply the old logic when comparing them. All mediums have same HP. Viking is fast and Hunter is stable. This is the current meta.

I argue that speed is more important than stability (when we are dealing with same HP hulls) for medium hulls, because you can reposition quickly, run away from enemies, catch up to enemies, etc. You are more flexible on the battlefield and can perform multiple roles. This is the role of a medium.

Power and stability are good for hulls that defend flags or CP points, so that they can push enemies away while not being pushed around themselves. Consequentially such hulls have worse speed, but it isn't so important because they generally spend their time in one area. Because they spend so much time in one area and don't have to mobility to avoid fire, they are compensated with armor. This is the principle of heavy tanks.

Hunter falls into that weird gap where it has the power of a heavy and HP of a medium, but below average speed. Thus, it can't fulfill the role of a heavy, which requires HP, and can't fulfill the role of a medium, which requires speed. What is it good for then? Perhaps it is a good gun platform, because it doesn't suffer from impact force as much as Viking. But that isn't something that makes it OP, just more pleasant to play.

agree with everything you say, except the pushing part.

you don't want to be pushing tanks too often in non-pro battles because they will drop a mine for you

stability helps, but pushing power not so much

Pushing power also affects how easily other hulls push you. Meaning if you sit on the flag in a Titan (or whichever hull has most pushing power) it's much harder for enemies to push you away and take you flag if you are a Hornet. There are many merits to having pushing power as a defender.

even if i use wasp, i can still drop a mine if somebody tries to push me.

First, you can't drop a mine on the flag. Second, it is better to block a drugging attacker (as that is what they do 99% of the time) than to lay a mine which they may or may not drive over that probably won't stop them anyway. Third, not everyone will lay a mine. Wasp can be quite easily flipped over just with impact force. Titan can't. Also, hulls with power are good for getting golds (push everyone else out of the way).
