LGC modules should be buyable

Recommended Posts

Take Dirty LGC-19. It has 8% (AFAIK) protection against Railgun, and 26% against Shaft. Wait. 26? That's more than Eagle D-A M2. It's clearly less than 50k crystals. LGC modules are currently unbuyable, and that makes it unfair to players who weren't playing Tanki in 2009, as then have to spend 20k on Falcon S-B M2, and be a First Lieutenant, instead of a Warrant Officer 1. So either LGC modules should be removed (which is unfair to the people who bought the paints), or LGC modules should be buyable.

Sorry, we do not accept ideas of bringing back old features.

Take it easy, the players this M1/M2 legacy modules, will rank up sooner or later, and will stop using them.

I know there are some great M3/4-ranked legacy modules.. but as said: ideas to bring back something old are not accepted by the rules of this section.

But I don't think this is quite bringing back an old feature. It's not about bringing back the old paint+protection thing, it's about making all the normal modules that are still in the game buyable in order to make the game fairer for everybody. The idea is basically, since we've separated paints and protection, why can't we all get the same kinds of protection modules?

We have enough modules as it is, some are too strong to be sold for normal module cost and some are just plain useless.

Those have been two things in one update:

1) separation of paints and modules was one thing,

2) the decision to change the rather complex legacy modules to more simple modules is another one

..and actually both of them made sense.

I think devs hope that new modules will gradually replace the LGC ones and they will no longer be used. But to be honest, I'm not sure why they decided to have LGC modules at all, instead of replacing them all with similar modules that use the new system.

Yes, and I completely agree with the change, what I don't agree with is leaving legacy modules for some players while the rest can't get access to them anymore.

I think that would have made much more sense.

Sorry, I can't multiquote from the mobile version.

Well, we bought the paint back then to get the protections. I don't want to lose Clay or Zeus or Africa. They cost a lot.

Yes, you think this is unfair, but we play the game for a long time, we "deserve" these LGC modules. Removing them would be unfair for us too.

I think that you should keep them, just that another Legend who just started a year ago should be able to buy them also.

Well, there are many changes that people don't want and yet they happen.

So, is this the card we are playing? "I was here before, therefore I deserve more privileges than you"? Then let's make a system that gives privileges to players according to how long they've been playing. For instance, after a year, they can use supplies. After two years, they can use supplies in battles even if they are off. After three years, they've got ten seconds to pick up a gold box before anyone else. After four years, any nerfs to their turrets don't apply to them, and so forth.

Seriously, however long a player might have been in the game is no argument. The game is supposed to give somewhat fair matches to players. Removing them wouldn't be unfair to you if you got a module to replace it, so that to can play against other players on the same ground.

It is always hard to take away something from players.. so if the old stuff does not harm the balance (too much) it is better to leave it in.

For the most M2-rank legacy modules this sorts out itself over time.

For M3, some of the legacy modules seem more usefull then modern modules. Especially if the player already invested a lot of time into them to microupgrade them.

I think the decision was good, and that the amound of legacy modules that we see in the game will drop over time, as the players quit playing sooner or later anyways.
