valid UTC+local time info for news panel topics

You know what would be very nice?  If the news panel, could display your own local time for timings rather than UTC.  I'm not sure if this is possible, but perhaps you can pull the timezone information out of the client/browser, and have the time automatically adjust for each location.  Some of us have trouble with being near half  a day in front, its just to much of a head breaker sometimes figuring it out.

I guess I'm looking for it to pop up in notices and news posts, rather than in game... so you can get a better handle on just when it is in your local time. If you were going to pop a clock up there instead, then a UTC clock probably makes the most sense... given all the times are currently in UTC

Under account settings you can currently select your default location (country), which will change the currency in the shop to the currency that your country uses. 

 

I feel like there also should be a ability to select in what timezone you are living. 

Why? Currently in the news feed, every announcement is based on UTC timezone. It would be nice if the game could automatically show the time in your local time. 

 

Example: I can see in the news feed right now, that crazy weekend is coming, and its starting 21:00 UTC August 10th. But i live in a UTC +3 timezone, which means the event for me is starting at 00:00, not 21:00. So im suggesting, that if you add an option to select your timezone, the game will automatically show your local time in the news feed. 

 

Yes, its not too hard to add 3 hours to UTC time, but for people who live in a place with bigger timezone difference, for example UTC+11 and so on, this could be a really helpful change. Especially for younger players, who might not understand the timezone system too well.

My idea is a simple one, simple but extremely helpful.  I purpose a selection in settings that allows you to choose your own time zone and a 12/24hr clock!  All that would need to be done is to program the game to add or subtract a 

specific amount of time to or from the universal standard time.  I am sure that everyone will be vary happy with this new feature, at least, everyone not living in Greenwich Mean Time.

A dual clock on your console would be very welcome.  Even a single clock showing actual UTC time would make a world of difference.  We can always refer to our own clocks for local time.  Going to a website to convert time is confusing, especially if your location does not use Day Light Savings Time. 

 

Something like this couldn't be too hard to create and would be very handy even if it were in some sort of drop down menu.  Put it in the shop to motivate players to enter the shop; anywhere really.   

 

This would be such a help for players that are far away and would stop much confusion.

Or a -9 time zone that doesn't use Daylight Savings.  That is very hard to calculate when different days are involved.  And when and how many months is daylight savings anyway?  Does Pern Russia use Daylight Savings time?  If current UTC time were posted on your console, there would be no question as to when things started

If changing the lobby is too difficult, put a UTC clock and UTC date on the front page where you initially click "Play" to bring up the login dialog box.  That has to be very easy to implement.

 

This is an idea that really needs to get passed to the devs and implemented asap.

I agree this is a necessary idea and putting it on the front page is the best option.  It is very hard sometimes trying to figure out my time vs UTC, especially when Tanki has one event with two times like one for restart and one other for when they start counting kills.

Like the idea, but it's simple, just go to UTC time site, look at UTC time and ur time, remember the difference and there's no problem. If event is at 21:00 UTC, it's at 23:00 for me (+2)
