The first animated paint in Tanki Online!

Actually it's not that hard. The system already knows that you're being attacked by Freeze, because your tank's temperature drops.

I don't find the idea particularly appealing, but it shouldn't be that hard to code.

Yeah, but then there's the bit with changing the whole paint to include a "smart" shift in animation speed that's affected by the gameplay. I don't know anything about coding or how hard it is, but this seems like way too much effort for something that will be noticed by a negligible number of players.

Nah, assuming that the animation is properly made, the only thing you need to do is to make its speed a variable that equals the tank's temperature instead of a constant. It takes two minutes at most.

Again, I'm not saying it's a good idea, I'm just saying that it isn't hard.

I am also not saying it is a good idea (I think it is a bad idea)

Most likely the thing missing, is that It won't be hard to slow down all animated paints in the whole battle, but it is a different thing to slow down just the animation of one tank while leaving all others untouched. The speed parameter would need to be assigned to each tank individually (and not to the paint in general) and the fire or freeze needs access to it.

But anyways, it makes no sense to charge for an effect of a paint, that just comes up when you get hurt and so reminds you of something negative..

It would be something different if you could buy DA packages that light up the side the shot came from (like a detector), or if you could buy a firebird alteration that burns every paint into dark black coal.. those would sell better.

I think lilac petals looks a lot nicer.

Just down to personal taste really, I find alot of paints look nicer than Flow but I guess people like the 'cool' factor.
