The announced hull-specific overdrive functionality is something only four-year-old kids can possibly want. How can the devs fail to see that? Looks like they have a four-year-old-kid mentality.

It's an idea taken form another game. Not necessary at all, but oh well.

 

IMO the fundamental weakness in TO is the fact there is no real reason to level up. But there is at least one reason (ever more and more drug use) to avoid leveling up.

Why exactly is that a weakness? If you are talking about incentive to play the game, that's not why people play it (at least in my experience).

 

I never said Tanki is dying :D

 

WOT has more players and the game is 7 YO, around that.

 

The problem is that WOT make a lot of ads. You probably already saw this animated ad where you have to kill the tank, then they redirect you to WOT.

 

TO has way less ads.

No, because WoT is a much more complicated game with much better graphics, sounds, etc.

or Tanki is intentionally screwing up the game because their profit margin will never be large enough.

They probably instead want us to join Tanki X and have this one completely die.

Of course it makes sense for a developer to ruin their own game and make no money rather than try to make more money out of it.

Of course it makes sense for a developer to ruin their own game and make no money rather than try to make more money out of it. 

When there is no meaningful long-term goal to keep players interested  over the long term then it is hard to retain players. Everyone is differnet but I am sure I am not the only one who gets gaming satisfaction from improving one's in-game capabilities. That really doesn't happen in Tanki

First, I appreciate your statements. I mostly agree, and I thank you for voicing your circumstances.

 

Some think there is an intent to push for Tanki-X. That seems impossible. First, T-O is established. Keeping it growing is only smart. Developing spin-offs and new versions is the obvious path forward, but pushing out T-O is dumb no matter how one looks at it. I tried T-X in the alpha testing, and my son played a lot for them and sent some feedback. Late in the eternal beta, I tried, and tried. I got good enough to always end battles in the top three, but it was just never fun. It was challenging, and hard, but it was mostly tedious, not fun.

 

That is where T-O has gotten.

 

I'm a little astonished at the lack of addressing the level of disgruntlement. On the few instances where resistance to change was so high, they have addressed it directly. They tried a few fixes and admitted sales and battle fund increase were partially as brides. Things tended to get a little better fast, but not with The Great Leveling (Oct16), and not with this. I assume they had their reasons then, and they seem to have big plans now, but it just isn't working.

 

These changes are exactly that, changes. They are not improvements. They are not counter-play. The changes just make things different, and the only significant difference is more frustration and less entertainment. This update has made the game harder despite making it less challenging.

 

I gave up on Tanki-X, and I may not try it again. I'm feeling just like Dliver, and I just don't know why I keep trying.

 

I've played Tanki-O regularly for 3.4 years. I've played it every day, missing only two this summer for responsibilities, for over a year. 

 

It hasn't been that long ago that I wanted a full M4 garage, and I intended to master every combo (except isida, isida stink). I really haven't thought that way in months. I made legend, I have my fully MUd favorite twins-viking, and fairly solid garage. It was a lot of fun. "Was" being the important word here. It used to be fun. It no longer is, hasn't been much fun since they took all the uniquenesses away in The Great Leveling. I don't get it. I really don't understand. Why only three actual hull variants? Why are all the short range weapons essentially the same now? Why change rail so much? It used to be 60-70% of all turrets in matches.

 

Bluh... 

Thank you for your articulate post.  It makes me feel less angry that people that have been in the game so long and have such a broad overiew are as disgusted with the changes as I am.  I feel less like a whining complainer.  It is so very sad what they have done to my favorite game.

Well if you stick around long enough, you might find you can buy pixie dust in the shop. If you ever get flipped, you can press 8 and magic fairies are released to turn your tank upright. /sarcasm

 

I'm feeling sad right now. My clan has lost a strong clan member and he's left because there is less enjoyment due to these gimmicks.

Not too bad. A lot have done better, but I'm satisfied. I had a lot of fun doing it too. A great 4 1/2 year run. That is til the Dev's wrecked the game.

 

I played probably my last game tonight. I thought - "Why am I playing?" The game is ruined. It is now boring and tedious. The Dev's aren't fixing the main problems of bad code that causes continuous crashes and glitches. They continue to allow the proliferation of cheats and mults. Bullies are everywhere trying to intimidate other players or sabotage them in games.  Hackers are all over the place now. All they do is make promises of better things to come, which never happen. Then to cover up their failures they keep ruining the game with glitzy gimmicks such as overdrive, wreaking the things that were working in the game and having worthless time consuming contests that really give you nothing with the purpose of distracting people away from the mistakes they're making. They turned a game that you could, if you worked hard enough, play for free into a pay to win game. They have turned a once brilliant and great game into a mediocre and boring game. Which will soon turn into a terrible game once they introduce their new proposals.

 

So tonight was, more than likely, my last game. Some will cheer (I fully expect the usual suspects to chime in) and hopefully some will be saddened. I really don't care anymore because the game that I love to play so much has been ruined by arrogant close minded a@#%$#@s, who refuse to listen to the people who have played the game the most and the longest. We know the game, we know what made it great ,but when we tried to tell you and at times begged you not to do things that we knew would ruin the game, you ignored us. So I have decided to ignore you.

 

In 2012 there were well over a 100,000 people playing the game during peak times. now you can't even break 40,000. Piss poor management and decision making if you ask me. Go back and check out the old vlogs from those times. The offices used to be fancy and nice. Now they're filming in little cubicles that are obviously in the low rent district. The trends are plain to see. Bad decision after bad decision have led to a steady decline of players and income. Now the hard core players, like myself, are leaving. When we leave and take our money Tanki dies. It may not happen tomorrow, but it's not too far off. In an earlier post I said I would ride the ship down. Sorry I can't anymore. It's just too painful to watch.

 

So long Tanki it's been fun. Sorry that it has to end this way.

Thank you for your articulate and stirring post...you are a very good writer and expressed how I feel so very well.  I am a noob in comparison to you, but I still loved playing this game...I wish I had known about it years ago, but I got in on only a few months of "the good old days".  Tanki was so much FUN before the paint separation update (not that it in itself was a bad update, but that seems to be the beginning of Tanki's deterioration).  Now, to me, playing Tanki seems tedious with big dollop of frustration...almost no fun....so sad.  I spend only a small fraction of the time playing Tanki that I used to.  With the latest update and in dread of the coming updates, I plan on weaning myself away completely 

 

There is a bright side to this depressing turn of events in Tanki.  I used to spend an inordinate amount of time in the game.  Now I (we) will have all that time for other pursuits.  Hopefully those new pursuits will be more fruitful than the hours and hours spent (wasted) playing Tanki.

Pixie Dust will only work with a Mammoth that is equipped with Isida and wears the Love paint. Remember each combination needs an special ability, that's what CM Riddler told us in the Virtual Live Stream last week.

I might stick around long enough to see Tanki implement the planned "Endzone Touchdown Dance" where, as you cap a flag, your tank rears up on its stern treads (like The Lone Ranger's Silver), does two spins, a quick backflip, and blinks your team's color..

Make overdrive timer doesn't reset after connection errors

I'll start with an example. You are playing and your overdrive charge is at 90%, suddenly the "an error has occurred" or similar popup shows up, you have to reload the page to re-enter in the battle but when the game works again the overdrive charge was reset. Very frustrating, especially if you receive lots of errors (like me). I'm asking to simply store the charge level so if an error occurs you don't lose the possibility to use overdrive.

It's slowly dying, but due to natural causes, rather than "bad updates".

 

 

i still remember 62k online at christmas 2016.
30k players lost in 6 months - that is not a very long time interval, the game did not become "old" in these 6 months.


Mid-summer vs the biggest winter holiday. Massive difference, since during summer people often go on holidays.

OMG! You are delusional...what an utter crock.  If Tanki is dying ABSOLUTELY because of the updates.  Are you blind?...read the forum you moderate.  

 

When THOUSANDS of players complain about the updates, do you just assume the ones that don't complain on the forum are enjoying the updates?  

 

95% of what I read laments the days when Tanki was fun BEFORE all these game changing update started.  If, by natural causes, you mean mismanagement and poor decision making, well, then you have a point...natural causes

When THOUSANDS of players complain

I only count around 400 individual users replying in the topic that announced removal of missions from PRO. And yes, if someone doesn't complain anywhere, then they are probably fine with the update, right? I don't see what else to think here.

 

By the way, I'm not saying that players should have liked and enjoyed that update, since it was a pretty big inconvenience to all, but like I said many times before - it was a necessary change because missions were not being treated as they're supposed to. It was bad, but it wasn't "OMG THE GAME IS RUINED I QUIT!!!" kind of bad.

 

The way I like to think of it is that before that update missions could be exploited, therefore players should have been enjoying the privilege of easy missions while it was there, instead of complaining when it got fixed.

As a non-drugger, I welcome this update quite a lot :) I am glad I don't have to feel guilty about wasting drugs in order to just compete, it felt too bad :3

 

Now, competing without drugs is quite easier, and the number of druggers seem to have decreased, I just hope that TO still gain revenue. I'll just play this game as much as I can now, as honestly I have a bad feeling they might buff drugs a bit more than they currently are.. and to all those complaining, it's a change we're gonna have to get used to :/ only way to keep TO afloat :)

You helmet icon guys must be brainwashed. How can you possibly say there is LESS drugging now? What server are you playing on...I wanna play too.

 

SO WHAT if missions were being done easily! SO WHAT? Did it hurt anyone? Were players happier? Do you actually listen to Hazel-Rah and his spin? Players need in game income...if they can't get it they will either send in money or stop playing. Doing missions is, most likely, players largest source of income. What is the big problem if a friend helped you take #1 in a one flag created game? SO WHAT? Every player had the ability to do the same thing, it was completely equal. The problem with it was Tanki might make more money if missions get harder...GREED.

 

And if you have hundreds of people protesting, you can bet that the majority of players are displeased. #$%@@#%% Can't you read that serious long time players are abandoning ship? I LOVED this game. I LOVED playing it and now it is almost broken. It has NOTHING to do with it being old, I was never bored...it has everything to do with the constant ill-conceived updates. COME ON....READ the forum!

 

I challenge you helmet guys to get the administration to organize a real poll...with well thought out questions, not leading stuff like, "How long have you been beating your wife?" Try framing the questions here on the forum. Send the poll to everyone that logs in in the news pane and maybe even offer a crystal reward for completion like has been done in the past. The important part would be to frame the questions with care and not biased towards the answers you particularly want or expect.

 

I believe whole hardheartedly that the majority of players are disgusted with most of the recent updates. There are at least 400 players that agree with me...and that is only on one update! How many liked it other than helmet guys? 5, 10 maybe?

 

Fantastic rationalization...mind-boggling. ...I have a a really nice bridge in San Francisco I'd like to sell you guys...I'd sell it to you cheap. You helmet guys could pool your money and send it to me all at once to save postage.

 

Oh, and it is THOUSANDS when you read the forum...not just one thread about one, albeit horrible, update, but the forum section concerning News and Announcements....THOUSANDS of unhappy players, all from foolish game-marring updates.

Do a comparison year to year matching up the seasons. Summers with summers, Holidays with holidays. You will see a significant decrease in players. The yearly averages over the whole year are nose diving. If I'm wrong produce the numbers. I'm sure the Dev's would be happy to give them to you to prove that they are making brilliant decisions.

iam not able to play tamkiomline becasue it doesnt load for 4 consecutive days i tried everything also uninstalled the game treid it on browser cleared cache deleted app data and alos tried it on the standalone flashplayer  but nothings works all becasue of these lag updates

The guys have helmets to protect their brains from concussions bouncing around in their tanks, unlike some people who are so concussed they utter non-sequiturs 24/7.

Yes, it hurt the game's economy as players were getting easy rewards with very little effort. It also wasn't fair to the honest players who didn't know about the PRO battles mission exploits and struggled to complete them fairly in normal battles.

 

SO WHAT?  Every player had the ability to do the same thing, it was completely equal.  The problem with it was Tanki might make more money if missions get harder...GREED. 

It's not greed, the correct term is "For-profit business", which Tanki Online is.


 

Anyway, won't argue with that anymore.

HELLO! After This Patch Update Of HP,so how we can(parkourists) do a parkour without Heal Supply? Maybe,if we go on mine and get shoot from rail/magnum/hammer/thunder we will destroyed..rip parkour yet?!

This is a comparison of search popularity between Tanki and that famous "other tank game" that everyone compares Tanki with. It has always been rumoured by Tanki haters that this game has much better developers, better feedback processing and better updates. So if that's the case, then how would you explain the strikingly similar (in fact, nearly identical) popularity patterns that both games have been following for the past 3 years, if, according to the haters, Tanki has been pumping out such terrible updates throughout those years?

 

How do you explain it other than with the theory of more relevant and more appealing games stealing away the player base from older MMOs?

After Heal update so many players got shocked cuz that they have spented so many money,at Drugs for parkour and other...so,how clans do a battels? How parkourists can parkour? Maybe,i can't understand...#RemoveNewUpdate or They lose many Buyers... ~ Verdict https://prnt.sc/fwca97
