The current overdrive is too weak. Please add the old repair kit to the overdrive and a shield dome that gives 100% protection from all turrets for 30 seconds. The overdrive must also have a magnet for snatching gold boxes from the parachute for easy capture. The overdrive must have more supplies added to it. A good supply to add to the overdrive would be a bomb to destroy all enemy tanks at once.

 

There must be 2 versions of the repair kit. The current updated version that restores 1000 HP, and the old version (in the overdrive) that restores 4000 HP. That would make players more happy to have both versions. I see so many players activate the overdrive and they die too quickly. Please buff up the overdrive.

Some like this way, others don't and it is understandable but doing what my fellow player explained above is quite something, I must say. The way, the over-drive is now is quite powerful and on top of that, adding the old one? Not what we are looking for.  :lol:

Yeah these are the controls: shift, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and then you aim approximately at another player and press the space bar.

You can also use the mouse, sure.

Nah in the end you kill other players on an average no matter how hard you try. The more you use 1-5 the higher your average kills. Aiming is not so important that is kind of automatic. You have to get a hang on the lagging and then try to time that is more important.

And if the other presses the shift aiming and nothing won't help you anyway.

Yeah they can press self heal if you almost got them. Sure you can press heal yourself.

Tanki used to take skill. The only thing a player needs to know to win is how to use overdrive.

Yep. Because knowing when to press OD is not at all important. I mean it's not like you need to use any strategy to plan your attack for the flag :) Nope, just press OD and don't even bother touching the keyboard after that cause you basically already won. :)

Don't you hate it when you're about to destroy someone and they use over drive then 1 shot you? HMMMMM?

All I'm saying is that overdrive makes everything worse.

No. Because Overdrive activates around the same time for everybody. If some people were more strategical and new not to just spam it literally as soon as it activated then good for them. Other people need a leaf out of their book. And overdrive allows players without supplies to use supplies. How is that bad?

It doesn't, it becomes available first to those who capture flags or points and destroy more enemies. So, basically, overdrive gives an advantage to the team that already has an advantage, which, in turn, makes battles even more one-sided than before.

First of all, I said overdrive activates around the same time. Some may get a few seconds earlier some may get later. And if there is somebody on your team getting a lot of kills then what if they get overdrive? You do realize activating near your teammates activate their overdrives too right?

A few seconds that can easily turn into a couple of minutes depending on variables such as equipment, supply use, or team size.

 

I do realise that activating my overdrive also activates it on nearby teammates. That's exactly what reinforces the advantage of the winning team and makes it easier for them to win.

 

Now, battle tactics in Tanki are basically: go as a pack, drug more than the other team, get to activate overdrive first, enjoy positive loop reinforcement. All very strategic.

Because I've still got some little hope that the matchmaking system will be worth a try, and that I'll be able to play custom battles with overdrive turned off without having to buy a pro pass.

Except that Tanki X has its own problems, and because there are few players you have to wait for ages to get into a battle. I would rather wait for custom battles.

I appreciate the suggestion, but if/when I stop playing Tanki I'm certainly not going to start playing another version of the same game, especially since, last time I checked, they can't be bothered to make a client that works on Linux.

The developers promised us that there shall be more overdrives coming in the near future.

 

When shall we have more overdrives?

Be careful what you wish for. If you think things are unbalanced now wait til they add more overdrives in.

Nothing is unbalanced. Everything is fine.

Duh. When you activate it you momentarily become an absolute beast. People generally target large targets, which you become after a giant blue ball pops up around you...

I know.

 


Mammoth should get an overdrive that can push any hull. This will help me catch gold boxes more effectively.

 


Wasp must have an overdrive that makes it move twice as fast as normal.

 

Titan needs an overdrive so that it can destroy enemy tanks when crashing into them.
