I understand that is why mods are around, but a little more self serve wouldn't be too bad. 

 

Allowing players to close topics they open - will relieve the mods of so much strain, and constant repeating of said task.

 

Also would allow self-resolved issues to be silently closed.

Would be useful indeed, but unfortunately the permission options on this forum combine the ability to lock and unlock topics, so by getting ability to lock, a user also gets the ability to unlock their topics. And that results in an obvious issue where a moderator locks an inappropriate/incorrect topic and the player just unlocks it again. So yeah, we can't add this :/

It can get  archived. So no one can reply. Players can't move topics, only Helpers can move topics, so move it to archive and... done. No one can reply.

Good idea, but that's not how archives work here. We'd rather deal with locking topics by players' request via PM, instead of archiving every locked topic.

Still think its a good idea, just because its declined dont mean anything I had something declined not too long ago, and guess what happen the next day? It was added, it was most likely planned but the point is, it dont matter. 

 

As far as the permisions. They are programmers. They should be able to create custom permissions. If they can't do that I don't know why they are programmers. 

 

I have administrated several Wordpress CMS websites they work the same as forums in the backend with permissions, you just have to overrule a few rules.
