No smoky is definitely a spam turret it reloads fast enough and it has impact too plus long range. Nothing can stop it.

Long range?  Have you ever used it?  The weak damage is 10%

You've obviously never used smoky. It does around 60 points of damage. 2 figures in the damage. Plus it's not easy to hit your target all the time, especially if they're moving. Nerfing smoky would literally make it UP and unplayable.

 I don't like smoky much, although I went so far as to get the m3.  I find it to slow to kill people with, I prefer a bigger slug of damage rather than having to pepper away at someone.  On the receiving end they can be irritating, but not outrageously so, unless you get tag teamed by two shooting you in different directions :/

 

 That said, I think given the way things used to become available at one time it made it onto the list of things that killed me quite regularly along with isi, so I fixed them with a decent protection module/paint.   I say leave it alone. Good enough to be a danger, not so good its guaranteed to blow you away.

I used m1 on another account. Yes it's not easy to hit all targets all the time but making it UP? Ha ha no way. Maybe a tad balanced I mean you need to add in drugs factor- with DP smoky 2 shots my hunter.

You mean as opposed to Railgun that one-shoots it?

 

Moreover, if Smokies on Double Damage consistently two-shoot you, that can only be because your Hunter is a lower modification. The average number of shots that Smoky on Double Damage needs for a medium hull of the same modification is three.

Dude supplies NOT drugs. And if you add it in the factor, also add that others can use double armour countering your double damage. And yes it's hard to hit people and at long range impossible to kill even hornets and wasps unless they're injured. Smoky is fine dude. Just get smoky protection if it's that annoying.

Nay Railgun two shots me with Double D and yes you are correct about everything else.  But you use smoky so you would try to defend it.

A smoky with DD can not 2-shot a Hunter.  You have to compare equal m-levels. if you are "fighting above your weight class" then yes, you are likely to lose. can say that for any turret/hull.

 

Rail does way more damage than a smoky under almost all circumstances. Only possibility of a Rail on DD not 2-shotting your Hunter is 1) is was at least 1 m-level lower than your hull 2) it was extremely unlucky and had minimum damage both times or 3) you are using protection... DA or Module.

I think There Should Be a Delay but Only Before a Critical shot, the delay would be approx.0.5 seconds so then a player would know when he is shooting a critical shot, and the enemy would know when to leg it.or caterpillar it in a tank's case.

It's been nerfed multiple times in past year.  Enough already. get protection or use different equipment.

If the proposed delay is random (critical shot is random) then it would be impossible to aim.

At least Rail has a set delay that tankers are used to, and can aim accordingly.  Impossible with a random delay.

 

I can just picture it now.

- see target moving - pop out of hiding - fire - ooops delay! - target now in cover - shot hits wall - nuts

- see another target - ok, I will hit spacebar now and pop out after 0.5 seconds - oooops no delay! - crap I shot wall in front of me...

Smoky is just too easy to use, protections against it aren't too common and it is already OP in many maps and ranges it should be not. Yet you can even have it in one of the cheapest kits, "Paladin" kit.

I use Smokey on one of my other accounts. I don't think it really needs to be changed, although, some splash would be nice. 

 

It's the only stealth weapon in the game...it can be effective from a distance, midrange and short range. It has no tracers and you can't see the bullet flying through the air. (Sometimes I refer to it as a BB Gun). I think it's the most underestimated weapon because it's the fastest shooting single barrel weapon and can do a goodly amount of damage without supplies once it's M2. (IMO). Too bad the Crit got nerfed. 

Splash damage? So basically a better thunder  :D not to mention the good dps x range
