Add hints that show people how to use the Overdrive

Recommended Posts

Some people don't know how to do the OVERDRIVE even tho they know that by pressing some key it active , so there should a mini showing , how to do, just like when you start a account, instead of supplies there show some control just like show it , to all people. Becuz some people don't know Tanki forum or they don't watch Tanki Vlog nor news .

Not only that white light that appears on the screen , there should a hint near to that like Press ''SHIFT''

Would be helpful, just playing on my WO3 acc and almost no one of than players with alts know how to use it. It can lead to unfair teams very quickly.

Even having a hit on the loading screen while waiting for battles to load.

There was a language barrier between the both of you and therefore he did not understand what you were trying to say. You did not even explain to the person in detail on how to use the overdrive and therefore your example is you just being a nuisance to players. Although i agree there should be a hint on how to use the overdrive.

I think the newbies should figure it out themselves, if they don't take the opportunity of testing out the features in the beginner ranks, then they don't deserve to take advantage of them in the high ranks assuming they still don't know how to use it by then.

These hints will turn the low rank battles into low rank overdrives.

Why not just be a kind person and teach them how to do it? Well its probably your ego.

True, I do have an ego, but at least I admit it.

And why should I teach them when we're in battle? It gives me the upper hand when I come face to face with them. I might tell them after the battle.

I am talking about the people in your team, please use common sense.

I am talking about the people in your team.

All I need to tell them is "shift" and I will only say it once, that is because I lose patience in the thick of battle. If they ask it again, then I will let them figure it out themselves because repeating my answer even once is still considered spamming, and I won't accomplish anything from it, except being a mult in my team, which is still considered sabotage.

And all the hints will do is just slightly get them to know the function better. But many will just ignore it. An example of proof is the turret controls, it was seen in the tutorial many times, and the hints were also ignored many times, which is why there are quite a few legends (not mentioning you) who amazingly still don't know how to turn their turrets. And hints for overdrives will very likely have the same outcome.

I honestly think there is good intention with these hints, but I also know that they will be ignored by many new players.

Don't get angry its only a game and there might be a language barrier between the two of you.

There are a LOT under Master Sergeant that do not know how Overdrive is triggered and many think it comes from only a person that does it. On an alt, someone has seen me heal with Overdrive, but he was to far. He then drove up to me as if asking for healing with Overdrive right after I used it.

This new feature has to be documented somewhere. Maybe even during battle since there is no chat below the level of Master Sergeant.

How would I know if they're asking me the same question in a different language?

Sounds like a good reason to let them figure it out themselves.

Calm down, stop getting angry over a game. Just be a kind person and explain  to them, you can even use the google translator to explain to them how to use overdrive. Do no get angry if they do not use overdrive as they may be saving it for a better time. You never know.

Thing is, I don't have the time when I'm in battle to explain in a paragraph how to use a function, I might explain it in the lobby chat where I have more time, but I might get banned by a mod for giving out updated information on the feature to New players because let's face it some chat mods are just weird.

And how is that called "being angry over a game"?

You've said that like a billion times, but never given any good explanation.

You said you will lose your patience. It's of best interest to explain to the player in however long it may take for them to understand to help you and your team within the battle rather than do nothing. Mods are not weird and would not ban you for no reason. Moderators also do no ban you for giving out updated information on the feature, however you may receive ban if you give misleading information.

Meh, I guess you have a point.

pleeeeaase make another in game message about overdrive and how to use it because there are still more than 60% of player who dont know how to use it or dont even know its in the game..i am raging af when player dont respond to messages like "press shift" or "use overdrives"

so PLEEEAAASEE make huuuge ingame message about ovedrive already being in the game and how to use it and highlight it with fancy colors so everybody notice it

Under review

I'm sure it's just a case of getting used to. Most existing players will figure it out eventually, while for newbies a couple hints will be enough.

The noobs don't know how to use it so our team is always lost i can't use a lot of drugs and my team can't use overdrive so if you add this pne it will be cool because i see a lot of M4 players and they are pros but they didn't use it

may be he didn't watch the Vlog

Well, this tip has been included in the V-log, so I guess that's somewhat of a success for the idea :)
