Titan is already slow. Imagine when we'll activate this ability :D

Imagine you are sitting on top of a stack of tanks in parkour and activate the destruction touch  :D

What if your teammates touch you when you have the ability activated? Will they just die? :huh:

Probably only works against enemies, just like the bomb overdrive. I'm definitely not sure about that though - just speculations.

 

I thought so too, but then I realised that this is maybe a flag defense mechanism.

sit on the flag, noone able to push you, and you do not need speed anyways.

No one would be able to push anyways since they just explode as soon as they touch you...

The Devs are not going to make a update where you can affect your team in a negative way. It's basically common sense.

I'm surprised players are excited. Implementing these "Overdrives" would be terrible. They completely ruin game balance, not to mention over-complicate the game. Some, such as increased firing rate and seeing enemies through walls aren't bad, but planting a bomb or being COMPLETELY invincible? That is called breaking the game. Look at all these defenders with heavy hulls near the flag on full supplies. Surely they will be able to stop one tank from capping? Nope, because that tank can press one button and they'll be dead instantly. Completely balanced! I was amused by RIDDLER's posts suggesting the same thing, but now it's actually being considered? What? Justifying invincibility with being slow is ridiculous. On some maps it doesn't matter if you are slow or not. You can charge in a CP point, enable your ability, and no matter how many enemies try to reset the cap, they can't do anything and you kill all of them. Imagine players using that ability on Polygon CP. We already see how normal Overdrive can cause one team to completely overpower the other for a while, enough to cap a flag. Why implement more such features?

 

One can try to justify some features by saying there will be a long charge up. But that's only for one player. Put many players into a battlefield, and at any given point, at least one person has Overdrive enabled. 

 

Sure, these ideas are just that - ideas. Undoubtedly things will change. But the fact that they are being considered to begin with is alarming.

Devs said that they tried to pair the ODs with hull characteristics, so this probably wont happen.

Fair enough, so which hull fit with the supplies removal?

The insta-kill invincibility overdrive is just like the JCNRUAD cheat from GTA San Andreas, where your car becomes invincible and you explode any other vehicle with one touch once you activate it  :ph34r:

There was a Tank too in GTA on PSP. I used to play that game a lot around 10 years ago. It was the same thing. Each car we touched was destroyed :lol: :lol: :lol:

Yeah. That's a standard feature for tanks in GTA, but with that cheat tanks blew up vehicles even with less effort.

 

Btw I feel like this would be extremely OP n Tanki unless it lasts something like 1.5 seconds and/or has a limit of 3 tanks that can be destroyed like that.

i really think the new overdrives that will be implemented soon are waaaay too unbalanced, the supply system right now with the overdrive is really balanced atm that even the usual druggers cant fight back, if they're still going with this experiment maybe have it a temporary testing for like 2-3 days and see what opinions player have on this (honestl, supplies are balanced atm and there's no reason to change it, what if these new overdrives gave a slight or big advantage to druggers)

I would assume yes.

Something in the game engine changed about a year ago, and since then two railuns shooting each other are wwwaayyyy more likely to kill each other in the "same" moment (in the same game tick).

This was next to impossible in 2014/15.

Although I find it annoying when small ranks like yours are asking for updates like this and blackmailing the devs that they will leave the game ( not mentioning you ) . I do not want overdrives that they are putting into the game but I guess there should be a change now.

Abilities for hulls is OKAY but special overdrive for specific hulls means Tanki wants us to buy full garage :(


True, but keep in mind that the unique overdrive mechanics are for free, unlike the gun alterations.

Why are you making assumption like this? Maybe he has a higher rank account banned from the chat and he posts using an alt.

LOL! Great catch. Who wins when the immovable object meets the irresistable force?  The can of worms gets bigger.

 

As the current Supply Overdrive activates the supply cooldowns, will all other Overdrives also activate the supply cooldowns?

Another worm in the Great Can of Game Imbalance.

He means thew hull OD considerations will force players to use hulls they'd otherwise not need in their garage, Yeah they come "free" with the hull (or do they?) but you stil have to buy the hull.

These new OD's seem really cool, but some seem to be more useful than others, especially in CTF or 1 point CP maps. But I guess we'll wait and see.

 

Tanki might finally become more than just a supplies game now. :D
