Although I find it annoying when small ranks like yours are asking for updates like this and blackmailing the devs that they will leave the game ( not mentioning you ) .

It's pretty clear that you find annoying when small ranks ask for updates or blackmail about leaving the game. Yet again, you don't know if they have a higher account or not.

 

Anyway, that is not the point of this topic. If you want to continue this debate, feel free to send me a private message.

I know, but Tanki's gameplay does need to change otherwise players will get bored. Although I find it annoying when small ranks like yours are asking for updates like this and blackmailing the devs that they will leave the game ( not mentioning you ) . I do not want overdrives that they are putting into the game but I guess there should be a change now.

I never said gameplay does not need to change. I'm saying that the current ideas are terrible. For example: invincibility idea is bad, but slightly modifying the idea, say allowing a tank to be able to ram other tanks and do damage (not necessarily insta-kill) while having increased armor (but not invincibility) would be a good thing. Also, this game has changed so much the past year. Even the devs say so.

What if you and an enemy touch each other with that ability activated? Both dead? :ph34r: :ph34r:

Imagine if the following thing would happen where all tankers that were near the 2 who just collided just fly like nothing so I would assume best we can do is when we see that it is about to get real... we take cover in buildings.  :ph34r:

Why no mention of how suckie this last update made the game?

 

Why not at least acknowledge the reception? Most updates draw ire, but I've never seen such venom. I've never before seen so many very-experienced players be so pointed and specific about how bad it is.

 

No mention in the vlog?

 

The more I think about the proposed multiple-ODs, the more I think it will be mostly frustration, not fun.

Thank you for making me play less and less this game with each new updates. I really appreciate this.

 

I miss old Tanki...

It is a good way to leave Tanki, because otherwise it was going to be hard. :)

 

This comment sparked a new thought and a new POV on this announcement.

 

Modes. Which OD will work in which modes? 

 

The slow but invulnerable OD seems to have little value in DM, TDM or on any CP map with more than Point A only. It seems entirely designed with CTF in mind.

 

I am not going to look at all 7 ODs matrixed across the 4 modes. But just one example shows how some ODs will not fare well in all modes.

 

So once again players will gravitate to the one or two "good" hulls. The other hulls will gather garage dust.

 

There's already no reason to level up. Now Tanki is channelling all players towards the one hyll with the best OD. They should just save time. Give every player the m0 Hunter + m0 Smoky then eliminate all Ranks, Modules, and the other hulls and turrets. 

I think they think they have a good idea to make Tanki a better game and they don't care the money or the time people invested in the game, I think they think that after all their planned updates the game will be awesome and new people will join and spend money.

 

My idea is that we shouldn't get too attached to our accounts, like Pedro hinted, it is a good to play less and less. I think we should be looking for better things to worry about in life, I already destroyed a new account of few weeks on purpose practicing this new update, like looking for something that we opponents of these updates don't understand.

My favourite part of the vlog is when it says something along the lines of "every hull is going to have a different overdrive, so we opened a topic to ask you for ideas, and surprise! turns out that your ideas align perfectly with the ideas that we already had."

Hello.

5 pages in to this topic and we have about 7 likes on it.

This tells you something about the community's appetite for overdrive additions.

It's also an alarm bell you should be taking notice of.

 

I'm saddened and disappointed you're unilaterally planning such drastic changes.

 

If you can find a way to include a classic tanki online game mode, then please ensure it's available for those of us who do not wish to partake in fanciful, fairyland-like abilities. Please make this announcement sooner rather than later.

It's been online now for about a day, and the amount of hate in the comments is.. very low compared to other updates (like the mission update a few months ago or the supplies a few days ago). As people tend to speak out complaints easier then they speak out aproval, this last 5 pages here sound very positive to me (or I am just biased by all that hatred in the other threads :p)

 

I like your idea of a classic Tanki, as many others do as well.

The thing that seems funny about it, is that there are multiple versions of what people understand if you talk about "classic tanki". Some dream of the times with blue flames and ridiculous strong railguns/dictators, others of the 2014/15 times and again others simply preffer it as it was before overdrives have been introduced.

If I would have to guess, everyone likes to see that kind of game that they played when he/she passed through the M1 and M2 stages + some few(!) updates that came afterwards (while the opinions do widen up there again).

 

more then 400 updates by now. I wonder where the sweet spot of fun, tactics and balance was burried up to now :)

Hey all you anti-druggers I see the Dev's are listening to you too. More drugs than ever in the game and now super powers. Wow it gets better and better.

 

The game is ruined ladies and gents for everyone, druggers and non-druggers alike.

 

Hackers and cheats will rule because I can almost guarantee that all this new stuff is going to be as buggy as the dumpster behind a restaurant.

one needs to be complete ****** to play after those bad updates come..u people allready complicated this parody after separating paints and protections,adding 100s of new "modules"..I won't even start with latest dumb updates..now this?..wth???..is this parody becoming harder play then to pilot god damn space shuttle?..

Actually, I think people don't tend to complain as much in an environment when they believe their opinion does not matter one iota. Especially so when they think they can be censored or punished somehow for speaking out.

 

I believe you're biased. You've never been into supplies for as long as I've known you. You regularly use the Zero protection module and you used two repair kits on the 12th to test out the change. You've used less than 10 supplies in all of 2017.  You've hardly got your finger on the pulse unless you're a secret drugger on an alternative account.

 

I thought I was pretty clear to what I meant by classic tanki but you seemed to muddy that. Let me clarify - I mean pre July 12th 2017. The day before fairyland online broke out.

why dont they leave the game alone and just have supplys and OD for pro battles created when people buy the premium pass? if they are trying to make the game fair why not just disable supplys and drop boxes in non pro battles? means no one was abuse drugs? unlesss you create a battle that allows them too.? that would have been a better more fairer solution, now people have to drug to even have a chance to killing anyone

From a certain age/amount of experience on, that's true as well. Still it is the same environment in this as well as in the other thread.. so it seams to me that those [upcoming, different overdrives for different hulls] are more acceptable then the [current update on drug duration, cooldowns, repairs and supply-overdrives for all tanks].

I am biased for sure, as I do not like the gameplay with supplies. I like the "pure" gameplay of tanki even more (no supplies, no overdrives, protections max. ~20%) because that is more of a tactical challenge to me, instead of a war of who can throw in more material.

 

But since the overdrive is in the game, I use to play my missions again (which I stopped before), in order to check out how the overdrive influences the dynamics in the battles. I do not enter hardcore drugger battles, but those where supplies are used frequently, but not yet overwhelmingly (hard to tell, I know). And as I wrote on another post, I do not like it the way it works now. But I think that this situation will get better, if not every tank on the field get's the all-supply overdrive, but the different tanks have different abilities.

Too true. It has broken my addiction and my support and money is going elsewhere. I've already found a much better game.

 

Head for the lifeboats people the SS Tanki is sinking.

Few people complained this Overdrive/useless-RK  update before it was implemented, like I and 2 or 3 other forum users. And that's the other thing forum visitors should not be taken as a reflection of all Tanki players.

Then game is becoming boring, it is all about who has Overdrive ready. You can adapt, but if it is boring you don't need to.

 

Don't do this, it will complicate the game too much 

And they want to have a Mobile version of the game, go figure. It won't work, unless they want to eliminate supplies and only have Overdrives, eliminate 5 buttons and only have 1 for Overdrives, so little kids can be happy playing Tanki from their phones.

 

Riddler's magnet idea might be better than some of the planned ones. 

 

Imagine a Titan with a Magnet, defending a flag, it would pull attackers to it so they don't run with the flag.

 

The whole thing is funny.
