Lag issues - When more than 5 tanks around me...

In tanki online, my ping is usually around 200. This is average for me as I live in Oceania.

However, whenever more than 5 tanks (usually at a gold box) I get extreme lag, with a ping of 999.

I can still view what is happening quite accurately with the catcher taking the goldbox. However, I do no damage to anyone, and go through the gold box without taking it.

This is a very bad problem and I want to know how to fix it.

I use a chromebook to play with little storage left and live in Oceania if that info helps. The internet I use is called

NETGEAR.

I use the browser. I can't download the client as I use a chromebook...

I remove all unnecessary graphics options like skybox, mid-mapping (even though I don't know what is does), particles, etc.

As for specs, I have a 11e Lenovo Chromebook...

Could be both, and you are pretty far from servers also that would explain high ping.

I have had the same exact Issue in 2012 If I remember correctly. I had been forced to play In Sandbox Map for that It's 4-4. More than 4 participants, I receive an Instant unlimited Lag. 

Several months later, I changed my Router device and the problem appeared to be completely gone!

The Gold Box lag problem however occurred later In 2016 for couple of times but In my case It has been automatically fixed..

To what I experienced, I'd say the fault belongs to your Internet service provider (ISP) I'm 85% certain.

Australia is pretty far from the servers
So in my opinion its that's why you facing this problem. 
Even i do face this, I'm from Mauritius which is not far from Australia. And yeah the best ping i can get is probably 101
So the reason for your high ping is probably because of your location.

And yeah as you said about the gold box which makes you lag when more than 5 people are near it, i would suggest you to play in less visited servers of course where there are some battles of you ranks at least.

^ not the best when it comes to games but TO should be a game any Mac Laptops/PC can run easily without any problems at all but it is true, not meant for gaming, well most of them.

I also face same prob , not 5 tanks prob... but tanki wont reduce lags xDD just suffer ;P
