You people wrote quite some entries! I was quite taken aback by the number of PMs flooding up in my messenger, but nevertheless, here are the results of the contest.

Time Capsule Entry (2017)

 

Please notice: The topics described in this article may not be completely relevant a year from now. Anything you may not understand when this may be posted, you may ignore as it is probably some ancient Tanki lingo and could be somewhat or completely irrelevant.

 

The year of 2017 was a special year for Tanki. Not only did the Tanki staff fix a lot of the critical errors in the game (I hope they are finally all fixed by the time this is being read) but a new turret named Striker was released followed a couple months later by the infamous Magnum which still haunts the blue team in Noise to this very day (and probably a year from now as well). Both turrets provided a lot of damage if used correctly and appropriately and also have splash damage, especially Magnum.

                                                                                                                    

These new turrets are still taking time for many players to adjust. We are still learning on how to counter these new weapons of war (especially Magnum) and I hope we come up with plenty of solutions for the near future. The map Noise depends on it.

Another great addition was added to the game which happened before 2017 but after the previous Time Capsule articles were written. This new feature was the ability to drop gold boxes. This caused an outbreak in the Tanki community as “Gold Rains” and “Save the Gold” became more popular. Upon realizing that another tanker had bought a kit containing gold boxes, many others would pretty much beg for hours on end for that player to drop a gold box or two.

 

With this new feature, the amount of trolls in the game is steadily rising. Many players claim they have gold boxes, but really don’t, causing other poor gullible tankers to waste as much as hours of their day hoping for something that is never going to come. It probably seems weird a year from now that you weren’t able to drop gold boxes back in the day since by the time this may be posted, especially to new players, it may seem this cool new feature was always in the game.

 

 Oh yeah, and there is still the constant question in the chat that grinds everyone’s gears. “Please drop gold box admin.”  This is one of the problems that I know for certain will not disappear by the time you read this. It’s a contagious disease and it spreads through the Tanki community like the plague. It is unable to be contained and is as old as Tanki itself.

 

Another thing changed this year and that was the separation from paints and protection. You may ask a year from now:  “What do you mean?” Well, for starters, any new tanker might not know that back in the day, paints and protection modules were put together. If you equipped a certain paint in battle, it gave you that protection. However this year, they separated the two into paints and modules so that tankers could have the protection they wanted and still equip a bright paint of their choice. Thanks to this update, several new paints were added to the game, most of them with cool designs and lots of them exclusive to kits. Maybe a year from now they’ll let us design our own paints. That would be pretty cool!

 

Alterations were also cool new additions this year. It gave many turrets new features for crystals including my favorite which allows railgun to shoot a white laser instead of a golden one.

 

Another new update this year was the “Battle” button. If you would click it, it would automatically send you to a battle. This update is handy for casual players. However, at first, the button would send you to empty battles or ones that were far from your rank. But they’re planning to redesign and expand on the idea of the “Battle” button which will include your preferred types of battles and ones that are actually full. Also, while we’re on the topic of battles, they’re planning to put in a new update that will pause a battle when someone has left until it fills up again so that there will be team rebalance. Therefore, battles will not be cut short due to one team quitting when facing an opponent that was too tough for them.

 

So in short, 2017 was full of important updates that will change the future of Tanki and it looks like there are plenty more to come. (Probably some that we haven’t even heard of yet.)

 

Some updates I would hope to come in the future would be:

·         Creating battles that allow only specific  turrets and hulls play example:  Firebird + Wasp

·         Increase XP and points for when you kill someone with supplies.

·         Better team balance (using players’ scores and D/L from the previous game to balance out the teams.

·         Several new cool paints, including designing your own.

·         XT versions for every hull and every turret.

·         A new hull(s)

·         New maps

·         New Game mode (Assault hopefully)

Hello 2018 Tankers!

I am writing this to you, and to all of your friends, enemies, and all of the noobs you have battled against (I know there are many). I sit down at my laptop on Wednesday, July 26th 2017. I understand that you all will be seeing this one year from now, so lets get started.

 

 

Recent changes have started to affect Tanki, such as the permanent 'Overdrive' feature, which, before the change, was only featured on holidays and special events. Overdrive was formerly known as 'zero supply' because of its ability to equip every supply (excluding gold boxes, but that is not a bad idea...) without using any you have stored up. However, this feature, as I understand it, is not completed just yet. From my knowledge, I know that 'Overdrive' will change depending on the type of hull you have equipped, and it will give a different power unlike anything on Tanki ever before. In 2018 I hope that you guys have the luxury of having a completed and perfected 'Overdrive' to play with.

 

 

Another feature coming to Tanki is the new way to pick battles. Unlike the old (2017 current) way of choosing battles, you tankers pick battles by type, CTF, CP, DM, or TDM. Supposedly this creates a more fair chance for all players? I guess we will just have to find out!

 

All of these changes are interesting, but I will let you in on a little secret that not many people know about.

Ok, so here is the deal. You know Godmode_ON, right? Well right now he is making an apperance. The Tanki government cannot handle him, and they fear that he is going to take over Tanki Online! The real reason for all of the new implementations of Overdrive and the new way to choose battles is to hinder his abilities. If all tankers use overdrive against him, he might die, and the new battle choices have the purpose to make it harder for him to target one tanker, like Cedric lets just say, and ruin him. This diversion that Godmode will have to get through will greatly slow down his hunt and allow Cedric to get to an isda or find a repair kit pickup box.

 

 

Speaking of repair kits, they also went through a face lift recently, as did all of the other supplies. When 'Overdrive' was implemented, the supplies also changed. However, the repair kit changed the most. It now heals 1000 HP instantly upon use and then slowly heals the rest of the tank until full or until the tank gets dealt damage. The other supplies have been changed so a fully drugged tank is achievable because of the shorter cool-downs. With that, though, the drugs don't last as long as they used to either.

 

Ok, back to Godmode_ON

Ahh yes, Cedric was running away through different battles to try to find an Isida or a repair kit that he can replenish his HP. So, as you can see, Godmode is doing some bad things (again, when is he not) in Tanki. Not only is he personally hunting down Tanki workers, but he is also gathering up a band of rebel tankers that he commands to do little things, delete the cooldown on supplies for them, use the jump hack, take advantage of glitches, and steal paints and things, like Flow.

Oh yeah, Flow. I have to tell you about this...

 

 

The new Flow paint! It is the first animated paint, and is supposed to look like moving water. On July 7th, 2017 (of course 2017...) there was a shop bundle that featured the Flow paint as well as some crystals, supplies, and gold boxes. This paint was very expensive and so far, this is the only way to obtain it.

 

Sorry guys, I'm getting off track again. Anyway, Godmode's little band of rebels starting bigger and bigger. At first it was the things mentioned before, stealing Flow, jump hacking for golds, but after a while, they started targeting random tankers and destroying their D/L, just like Godmode did. The targets became more and more important as Godmode's team worked their way up the ranks.

 

In 2018 I hope you have a good democratic Tanki to play in because right now it looks like Godmode has the upper hand. He is taking over the Tanki government!

Hey survivors…

Ok, I got to be short on this. Right now, I am hiding in one of the remotest corners of Berlin, on VPN and some other tech that helps me keep anonymous from the Devs, and Cedric, their evil puppet. But I am sure I will be captured soon. As was everyone else. If you are reading this, congrats, you are better than surviving than me, which should be a great honor for you. Like, real great. I don’t know, maybe your just a wasp that doesn’t even understand what’s written here, but, hey, that will at least I am the last and the greatest at survival, haha. Or maybe you’re a wall, not even a wasp.

 

Ok, I am sure you don’t know what happened, and that’s what this letter is about, k, though I am sure these last moments of my miserable life will be wasted on you, whoever you are.

 

Ok, this is what happened. You know, there is (was, really, I mean he got executed) this guy called yisnug. No, wait, his name is Sir President Sir. Or, no, yeah, wait, that’s what he called himself. His name is yisnug alright. So, ok, this nub had great ambitions. He dreamed of taking over the EN forum from the time he was a cute little recruit with a smoky and hunter m0, and green paint. As he grew up, he took photographs of some of the most powerful people in Tankiverse, including the legendary lovers Illia and Mia. He made friends all the way. Well, you can imagine how much power someone has if he/she is best friends with Mammoth XTs and Thunder XTs. They are OP for Cedric’s beard’s sake!

 

Ok, so he became pretty powerful and an icon in the Tankiverse. CooperO became the Secretary of Forum Spam Prevention and secretly joined the Anti-Ostrica/Cedric revolutionists, seeking to overthrow the Cedric Ostrica administration (they were dictators, k, and they had very strange demands. Night-sisters, a member of the administration, like the crappy looking blue paint! Imagine! She used to gouge out the eyes of tankers who said bad things about the paint. Inhumane, ikr!). So when CooperO became what she became, yisnug sniffed power. He went on to photograph her and I3est during the Halloween ‘celebrations’ and other ‘celebrations’. Celebrations, bullocks. They were just distractions. The Cedric-Ostrica administration just used these ‘celebrations’ to distract tankers, so they could secretly smuggle in X crystals from the Tanki X world, a virgin world untouched by greed (#ArtCoreForPresident, k).

 

Ok, so anyway….

 

*Phew* I almost died from a heart attack when I heard some weird noise, thought my time had come, that this utmost deed of utmost inhumanity would be left unchronicled. But it seems, Godmode_ON bless us, I still have time left.

 

Ok, so yisnug by bribing CooperO with works of eye dazzling photography (which were really stolen from my art databse) managed to join the anti Ostrica and Cedric guys. Once he joined, he quickly rose, and soon, he became the President there. Now with the army of with the army of mult wasp fires, he attempted to ruin every battle in the Tankiverse. This made the Devs really angry. So they took out their anger…

 

*thing falling* omg was that magnum i think they know i am here ima gonna be quick oh gawd mud un hekp mee (Note to Hex: these are intentional spelling and grammar mistakes, caused due to panic, haha)

 

Ok, anyway, so these Devs took out there anger by banning us from doing missions in pro battles, and soon after disabling us from gaining exp and cry in private battles. Imagine my misery, I couldn’t do rank up parties there after! Those who knew that yisnug was behind this indirectly, boycotted him, but with little impact. GoldRock, an old text-wallist who could be easily bribed, got bribed by yisnug quite some time before this failed takeover attempt, and he accepted yisnug in the reporter’s group. With mod powers, yisnug ruthlessly banned those who tried to talk ill about him. But Ostrica and Cedric, and their army of Devs, are worse, k.

 

Ok, so realizing that there was a war approaching, the Devs made new weapons ordered by Cedric on behalf of Ostrica. They created Magnum and Striker, and made the weapons popularly used by the players and yisnug’s followers UP, while subtly making their own favorite weapons OP. They made the rules. How could yisnug possibly hope to win? Idk, ask him if he is still alive. Jk jk, he isn’t, but you can meet him in madness, where he was buried and his ghost still roams around. It was deemed appropriate that he be buried there, since what he did was madness. In order to dishonor yisnug, the Devs made the bottom of Madness go poof and it disappeared, so yisnug’s ghost felt claustrophobic. Even the good looking skybox was changed into a crappy looking one.

 

Ok, moving on from yisnug’s ghost’s grim fate. So, to recruit for capable soliders, Cedric came up with a cunning plan. He made a special giveaway, in which the most addicted no-lifers were distinguished and rewarded with 10 gold boxes and more apparent prizes. But that wasn’t all. Since these nubs played the most, they were the best. So Cedric, with help of Ostrica’s team of monsterators, approached these no-lifers, seeking to recruit them into the army. Those who refused were silently banned.

 

Ok, well, idk why I am saying ‘ok’ here, guess that’s how my English teachers tought me to start paragraphs. So, yisnug didn’t sit quietly watching this. He too recruited his army. By now, he had overthrown GoldRock, and installed a puppet called Flexoo. With these immense powers, he too recruited an army of his own. The means of how he recruited aren’t known; he managed to cover his tracks better than Cedric and his Devious army of opportunists.

 

Ok, so a few of the Devs felt some pity for the tankers. They thought they should lighten up the atmosphere. So, they managed to convince the rest of the Devs that there should an awesome celebration of April fools day and Tanki’s birthday. Cedric & Crooks took advantage, smuggling even more X crystals. Artcore, apparently, is still ignorant of this. Maybe Ostrica had infiltrated Artcore’s administration, and bribed the security guards? Nobody knows.

 

Ok, so during the Tanki birthday celebrations, Cedric dug a huge hole in the middle of Gubakha, and hid X crystals inside. I found them. Now I am a fugitive, about to die. I also found X crystals hidden in a secret chamber in Silence, but it was locked. I found the key code to the lock in Fort Knox, but Cedric got to know about it, and ruthlessly banned by account. I thereafter used my alt account.

 

Ok, so on July, Cedric and Ostrica sacked the newspaper. Why? Because it seemed most of yisnug’s power came from there. Yisnug furiously retaliated back by DDoSing the DS2 and other eSports tournaments. The Devs suffered heavily, and were forced to lure people to watch the live streams by offering giveaway prizes, which were won always by fake accounts.

 

Ok. The time had come. Yisnug bribed Adriel.Rb, rigged the polls, and became the President of the EN forum. Cedric, furious, banned yisnug. Yisnug then got into the account of the dead legend, semyon kirov, who had mod powers, and wrecked havoc to the forum. I am the only one who knows that was the cause of the forums going down for massive periods of time. Nobody else knew that behind it all was yisnug. Nobody knew that he had gotten into semyon’s account. That’s why Cedric couldn’t catch him, and banned numerous innocent accounts thinking that they were of yisnug’s.

 

Ok, omg, I see a mammoth XT magnum approaching me, in the distance. It will soon reach range, and then shoot if I don’t surrender. Godmode_ON forbid, I don’t have much time….

 

Ok, so, well, once on semyon’s account, yisnug managed to take the monsterators down, banning them ruthlessly. Taking advantage of all the havoc, he waged the war. And, yisnug lost miserably. Remember, the Devs made the rules of the war, how could yisnug hope to win?

 

Ok, so Cedric and Ostrica executed yisnug after capturing him. They soon after hired a group called Anti-MTGA Protestor’s Campaign, which was tasked with locating yisnug’ supporters and executing them. They abused their power instead, and killed of everyone who spoke ill about them. They managed to convict me of doing fly hax. I am the last surviving tanker, I think.

 

Ok, so good luck to my cute isida hornet remains. Bon voyage, people. I have written this with oil from my Viking, and I hope that Hex, the immortal who was secretly Godmode_ON, finds this, and narrates the story of Tanki Online to the weeping walls. :’( I shall join my forefathers, no…
