Why so many players don't use Overdrive?

I think that many of you have noticed this thing, lots of players who run around the map with that fixed white star, avoiding to activate it even when near many teammates. It is obvious that the team with this players will lose almost certainly, mostly if the other team has a good teamwork instead.

What motivation do you think they have? Maybe they don't know how to use it or what is it?

Its always been like that with new features, many players just don't read announcements and have no idea what to do. Its just a matter of time before more players discover how to use it.

You could explain them what it is and how to use it..

I found the exact same problem on my alt. My teammates don't know how to use ut and unfortunately, you can't chat at sergeant level

You are a lot on the Forum, be a bit more active in the game as well and I'm sure you won't need much of experience to rank up, why not... it is win-win.

Not exactly possible when a bunch of noobs keep hitting their own teammates with twins/rico making me miss half of my shots on railgun

True, but tbh, I hate the game. I like just the community :)

They most likely don't know how to use it. Overdrive is still a new feature and there was no compulsory tutorial for it, so someone who doesn't watch the vlog, read the news or go on the forum, wouldn't know what it it or how to use it, so I recon it will be another 3-4 months until everyone gets used to it.

And of course there's the really young children who can't learn to use the overdrive and the intentional saboteurs who enjoy making their team lose by playing badly, but I'm pretty sure those guys are less than 1% of all random players.

Most players are clueless, that's why.

You could explain them what it is and how to use it..

Nope, you can't, not since the brilliant move of removing all non-Russian servers. Unless you're fluent in Russian.. :D

They do it for many reasons. For young children, they just want to play the game since all the different features are a bit too complex for their simple brains to process. They just only understand the game modes and how they work, not the strategies that go along with them. For saboteurs, it's obvious why they do it, but there's nothing we can do about it, all we can do is deal with it. But for most other players that don't use it, it's because they are either ignorant or just have a brain the size of a walnut.

I'd like to think that they don't use it because they realise that the game is more enjoyable if no one uses it. Most likely they haven't figured it out yet, though.

I'd taken a break away from Tanki, for awhile. When I came back, I see all these tanks with white stars above their heads.

"What the heck is that all about and how come I don't have one?"

Later, I start seeing blue domes appearing all over the battlefield.

"What the heck is that all about?"

Finally, I got a white star of my own.

"Now that I got it, what do I do with it?"

Suddenly, there were 3 wasps all over me. Bumping into me, shooting at me.

"Now what did I do wrong and what is their problem?"

After the battle was over, I started researching this strange, new white star.

"OH!! That's the Overdrive!! No wonder those wasps were all over me. Sorry, Guys."

At times I will run around with that white star above me. But I wait for a group hug and spread my love and cheer with my team mates.

All the updates are making the game harder and more expensive for beginners. In the old days you just had to think about hull, turret, paint and supplies but now they have modules, alterations, overdrive and pretty soon special abilities for each hull.

3-4 months?  Holy crap! :o

Oh... you're kidding (this time) right?

I mean Devs "simplified" MUs so they would be easier to understand cuz there were so many people having difficulty ;) ;)

And yet - we have a new concept that might take some players 3-4 months to learn how to use?

Plenty of battles so far with half my team not using it (with big Star on their tank) as we lose the game.  Nice...

And yes - I ask them why they are not using OverDrive.  Stone silence. Very reassuring.

I heard that you know the russian language. Can you tell us a statement that we can copy and paste it to notify the russian players of this feature?

I highly doubt they are the ones who do not know about this feature.

3-4 months is probably an overestimate. I think in 2 weeks there will be very few players who don't use it.

And don't forget about the players who don't have any supplies, since I think you need at least 1 of each supply to be able to use the overdrive (not sure though).

"[nickname], пожалуйста используйте Овердрайв, который активируется клавишей Shift. В противном случае вы подводите команду, не используя эту возможность."
