Do you agree with the developers' plans of making a mobile version of the game? Would you play Tanki on your mobile phone regularly?

@DieselPlatinum: I think this mobile version may actually increase Tanki Online's playerbase since the majority of the global population has at least one mobile device and most of the majority primarily uses a smartphone, iPhone, Android, etc. I do realize that browser users will have an advantage over the mobile users since the mobile users will have a touch screen to work with. It can be hard to see on a smaller screen, their fingers will block part of their view. Although there will be some really good mobile players, I think the majority of the time, mobile users will struggle against browser users.

Yes, I do think it is very beneficial for the game to develop on other platforms, HTML5 is said to have a vast amount of more data than flash. This in turn will give the developers more creativity to fix all the bugs and reduce the lags and I guess even troll the cheaters. I would say that Tanki would easily place at the top of the mobile game competition. In my opinion, the Matchmaking System is a great way to balance all the battles in the game.

So overall, I do agree with the developers plans to put the mobile version in the game. I don't think I will play Tanki on my mobile device regularly because of these sausage sized fingers of mine. But I will give it a try a few times and maybe even once in a while.

@KILL_BILL_CHAUHAN: In my opinion, it's a good update and it will help players, like while they are away from their PC, or when it is sale on micro update or sale and any other things, or they want to claim there Daily Missions to continue weekly chain or simply spend time in the lobby chatting with friends. As for the playing purpose, it is an issue which has to be tested first. I think players on browsers will have advantages over players on mobile as TO is a very dynamic game and one has to control many things like the turret, hull, camera angle, supplies etc. To make it fair, Tanki must separate mobile player from browser players. With the upcoming Matchmaking update, I hope this problem can be solved and the system will send players automatically to the battle and save players time on searching battle and selecting servers.

And for the question "Do you agree with Developers' plans of making a mobile version of the game? Would you play Tanki on your mobile phone regularly?", my answer is 'yes'. I agree with the developers' plans. For playing Tanki as for today, is 'no', because I think Tanki on mobile is not possible for me as I like to play long battle and on mobile it is not possible. But for other purposes - other then playing, I will definitely use the mobile version.

@D.a.n.t.e: Yes, it is a good idea. It could bring new players to the game and allow existing ones to play the game they like on the go, or when they don't have a PC or home Internet service.

I have no idea of all the technical stuff of what it will take for the development team to create and maintain a mobile version of the game, but if developers create a version that is easy to play, is enjoyable, it allows players to answer phone calls or manage messages without worrying about lost scores or anything, takes into consideration cellular or Wi-Fi signal issues, and keep mobile players separate from PC players, it will be a good addition to Tanki.

Why separated players based on what device you are using? To prevent an imbalance between mobile players and PC players, and because then they can develop a modified system for mobile players in terms of controls, pauses, allowing phone calls, messaging, limited cellular or Wi-Fi signals and rewards.

@Adriel.RB: In my opinion, having the game available for mobile users will open doors to new players to join the game and it could also increase the game's popularity. I actually agree with making the game for mobile users because it also expands the way you can play the game and it makes the game to be playable on other platforms, and this also makes the game playable at any place whenever you want to be. The Matchmaking System will also help to play quick battles, and it will be a good option for mobile users to play in their free time. I'm also curious how the mobile users will learn to play the game, since the buttons will be a bit difficult at first, but the players will gain experience after a lot of trials in the mobile version. I'm so excited to wait for this feature to come!

@austen_pierce: Earlier this year, I was happy to hear Tanki would be available on Steam, even though I wouldn't be affected in any way. After all, more players are good for the game. It felt like real progress, and that Tanki was starting to emerge from its shell. Now we're talking about a mobile version, and I'm even happier - a mobile platform has the potential to expose the game to a much larger player base, and most importantly, to players who don't or can't spend a lot of time in front of a computer.

Personally, I’m a good example of the type of player Tanki is looking for when introducing a mobile app. Why? I spend a lot of my time with family, so free time at home in front of a computer is not always easy to come by. On the other hand, I can usually find odd chunks of time throughout the day to unwind using my mobile phone. For example, on a normal day, I play via my computer for about 30-60 minutes in the morning, yet I can find two to three times that amount of time around lunchtime, odd quiet moments throughout the day, and in the early evening to sit quietly with my phone. Currently, I'm spending that time on the Forum since obviously I can't play the game on mobile (yet). This can be frustrating when I read about a new feature or event on the News and Announcements but can't play until as late as the next day. I'm excited just thinking about being able to jump right in via a mobile app. I would use it every day, several times a day.

Of course, there is a lot about the Tanki Online mobile app which we don't yet know. Will it integrate with Tanki Online, or will it be a standalone game like the 'blitz' version of World of Tanks? For now, I will assume it will integrate, since a non-integrated version is not likely to draw much interest. Again, I'm excited to be able (finally!) to visit my real garage, make equipment changes, purchase items and upgrades for crystals, and use the shop (Apple pay, anyone?). Yes, I'm a buyer, and I expect a mobile solution to enable me to purchase for real money via mobile. Not implementing mobile purchases would be a huge missed opportunity and represent a significant lost revenue stream. Of course, I am assuming all this will function in the mobile game similarly to how it does in the browser, but time will tell. And then there are battles. At long, long last, I'll be able to hop on the battlefield whenever I have a spare moment and a decent data signal.

@PracticeParkourStunt: Tanki Online is a fast paced multiplayer game that is highly inferior to other games in the market (War Thunder, World of Tanks). Though this is true, Tanki Online is unique due to the fact that it is fast paced, has bizarre graphics, and requires pretty low computer requirements. With the addition of the mobile version, Tanki might be more interesting.

Personally, I will not frequently use the mobile version of Tanki since I have no mobile (rip me), but the mobile version has some pretty good advantages that pecks my interests. For starters, the mobile version will come handy when on vacation, where the computer is unavailable. It breaks my heart to see my beautiful 4th chain being broken. Being in a clan or parkour club will not be troublesome on vacations since you can still attend trainings. Furthermore, Tanki is better at being a mobile game than a PC. Just think about it: If Clash of Clans was first introduced as a PC game, hardly anyone would play it. If Tanki becomes a mobile game as well, players will acknowledge the portability and low requirements of Tanki; a 3D game on mobile will look good. True, PC gamers won't mock Tanki anymore, just the mobile users. Moreover, almost all games (this excludes monopoly) are fun to play with friends. With mobile version, one could go to their friend's place and play together, rather than using social network (which isn't allowed by some LEDC's parents), or bringing an entire laptop. The last but most physically important point is that you can play at any positions that you want. Tanki will stop giving back sores to dedicated players.

The Mobile Version of Tanki has a long way to go, and a lot of problems to clean. PC users will have advantage over mobile users, or Tanki will give mobile users special features, so mobile users will be superior to PC users. Tanki is a fast paced game, and the entire team might be on the losing side if a phone call is to appear. The small screen of mobiles will be a major disadvantage for those who use long ranged turrets. The major problem will be the controls. One solution to rotating turret might be tilting sideways, and camera tilt by back or forth. Perhaps there will be a fixed camera position pointed at the closest enemy. A cross hair maybe implemented for ease of use.

I bet that other users who are in the interview have already said pretty much the same thing, but the MAIN reason why I support mobile version is because, as soon as mobile version will be released, there will be a possibility of having an increased fund or Gold drops to encourage players try out the mobile version.

@falcosenna1: I tend to agree on Developers' decision to create a mobile version of the game. Developers told us they stopped advertising the game until they bring it to what they want the game to look like. Hence, we see the unfortunate decrease in the number of active players and battles. With the launch of a mobile version, the player-base might grow again since new players might find out about the game this way. With a growing player-base, the game might also get better known to other platforms, giving it new chances to cooperate with them.

I, myself, will probably try the mobile version a few times, but I think I won't prefer it over my computer. I think browser players will always have some advantage over mobile players even though developers said we won't be able to distinguish both from each other. When I look at all keys we use playing in battles, it's hard to believe you'll be able to perform just as well on the mobile version. Like, you can drive and turn your turret at the same time, but how will we be able to activate supplies, fire our turrets all at the same time on our mobile? Leave aside the option to change our view of the map (Q and E on our keyboards). I currently don't see how that's possible, but perhaps developers can surprise us. Though, I believe browser players will always have the advantage.

I don't think the Matchmaking System is the prerequisite for the mobile version. I don't think there is some prerequisite for it to be launched. With the Matchmaking System, mobile players will be randomly spread over battles, but without the system, a mobile player can also randomly pop up in your battle. He then chose to join your battle, but for you, it's a random player who joined. The Matchmaking System is meant to make battles more balanced and fight the mult problem. Hence I don't see it as the prerequisite.

Mobile game competition is pretty hard. Clash Royale, Clash of Clans, Castle Clash. These are just a few names of mobile games with 50-100 million downloads, but TO might steal players from these games, or players from these games might decide to play both the game they used to play and TO. In the beginning, I think it won't really be the other way around. Most TO players already know about those other highly popular mobile games and quite some of them already play those games. Once TO gets to be one of the more popular games on mobile, the real competition with other mobile games can begin. It's up to the developers to 'win' this competition which won't be an easy task I guess. :P

@Vikingsrallentando: I agree with the developer's plans to develop a mobile version but I disagree with how they are going about this. Since advertisement of the game has dropped, the amount of new players has also. I think allocating resources to produce a mobile version of such a complex game is not beneficial for current players. People 'grow out of' games, its a natural tendency for people to move on after being saturated in a game for so long. There are not enough new players progressing through the ranks and the work that went into maintaining the player-base is going to waste.

Matchmaking has been projected as a prerequisite to the mobile version because it enables players to enter the battle through cues and not through a long battle list. In regards to the mobile version, it's a great idea, but what prevented such an option before? It's difficult to start battles that progress to evenly matched fights, especially on rare maps. Matchmaking is a step in the right direction to eliminate stagnant battles and I don't think that has been emphasized enough.

I'm open to trying the mobile version once it is released, but I will not be playing it regularly though.

There you have it! Out of those that were polled, the majority agree with the development of the mobile version of Tanki. What do you think? Leave your comments bellow. See ya!

mobile version would be awesome in my personal opinion! Also it could be handy for the TO community as if it is on IOS and android it might be in top charts giving the game a bit of advertisement for more players! just my two cents!
