I don't see Maf in the polls, so I have no idea what you're saying. :rolleyes: In general? Yea, he's pretty liked.

 

As I am a photographer myself I can see that Yisroel uses the surroundings more. Maybe unintentional; but the rule of the 3th is nicely applied on some photos, especially the Smoky in the bushes.

I was put into awe after seeing some of your works (particularly the slow-mo vids), so your opinion matters a lot to me. Thanks! :)

For those who don't know what The Rule of Thirds is, it isn't the third refill of supper, it's basically a technique / guideline to taking pictures. I do use it for a lot of my pics, I think it looks more... elegant. That's why you'll find in some real action packed pictures, where things shouldn't look particularly elegant, I use a different style, which I don't know the name of, but I'm sure it's out there.

 

But getting into what it actually is, it's about not making the target the entire image, because then it isn't the target, it's the image. So, imagine two horizontal and two vertical lines going across your camera (I lot of camera's do have them, I believe for this reason, but we're talking about a screen right now, so just imagine the lines), dividing the screen into equal thirds. Place your target at either side, but not in the middle, and that's the rule of thirds.

 

 

Note that this isn't the only rule / technique of photography. There's also balancing elements, which is pretty self explanatory, but maybe a bit harder to do.
