Over heating effect-Twins

twins is one of the few ways(actually it's the only surefire way i know of) to relive your team from being spawn killed tilll the end of the match. a couple of my friends have twins+mammoth/titan in their garages just in case their team gets spawn killed. everytime my leader thinks the fight is getting too close to our base she gives the order and they change to twins+mammoth/titan  and brigh the fight back to at least the middle. spawn killing has been becoming a big problem, i do not think nerfing twins would be such a good idea.

I tend to find its the twins on viking+ that are doing the spawn killing, it seems to attract that kind of player IMO.

Of course it's their choice.

 

Does not make them any less annoying though.

Hence my endorsement of them spontaneously combusting - say - after 20 seconds.

That is how they use twins, do you want them to put their feet on the spacebar?

Take their spacebar away, would be much more effective.... make it, uhm I dunno, ctl-alt-del :P

Here i am. Standing here dont beliving my own eyes. I will post you some footage from battle i played 15 minutes ago. I just felt need to take screenshots and show them to all of you. So here it is:

Conclusion. 50% of the blue team were using twins as their weapon - TOO MUCH! If you ask me why IM using them is just because i got so unbelivably anoyed. I think this shows you a average battle at Poly CP at the moment as well as usage of twins`s plazma as just spamming it all over the map. I would love to record you the battle but unfortunately i dont have the application neither i do that kind of stuff. But they were spamming me from 4 sides when i came to cap point. I even had prot. for twins but nothing helped i got killled in 2 seconds. Guess how battle ended we lost like 100:45. Asking me why? I dont think you need an explenation for this broken turret and demended battle that we were in. I think that was the most boring battle i`ve ever been in. Just getting spawn killed. My DL went down to 0.7-6. My score was about 1k while twinses had over over 1.8k. Thunder could do no harm to them. Litteraturly imortal with 1 isida that they have had in battle. You cannot tell me thats a fair battle and CANNOT tell me that twins is balanced turret at ALL!

I personally would not consider to have an overheating effect on Twins, because this turret has been engineered to have its plasma ball fire at an infinite amount of times until the player gets destroyed by enemy tanks.

Some people don't like them because they don't seem to put "twins" and "danger at short range" in the same sentence.

 

So just avoid those twins if you don't want to get trolled by them. Now if you get trapped with them, then you may have to prepare for death with honor.

Twins really needs something to slow it down.... either in lower damage, over heating, spontaneous explosion, none of its present "drawbacks" account for its ability to deal damage for here to eternity. Especially at m3, you can see it becomes wildly OP because its the most widely used turret.

Because yall twins users and cannot get enough of spaming plasma and playing with no skill.

I played 880 hours with Rico, 239 with Smoky and 213 with Twins. I'm not a big Twins user. Still, I MU'ed it to M4. I don't want a nerf of this turret. I have already enough nerfed weapons that I can't use now.

Well then i can freely say that option to display gender suggestion is the worst and most stupidest idea i ever personaly heard in any war, shooting game and comparing it to my idea of slowing down twins with small energy consumption/over heating after some time is, trust me, many times batter and improved than that.

Nobody here asks the question: how will the Over heating effect really work (That's the main idea)? If overheating effect is in game, twins would become like Vulcan with shorter range, slower projectiles and greater damage. Every turret must have it's own game style, so twins should NOT become Vulcan. It is true that drugging twins are OP, but over heating effect wont nerf them because drugger can just stop shooting for a sec and just start to kill again. I dont see this very useful.

Idea has nothing to do with vulcan. Let me explain the numbers that im thinking of and how would it work. First idea

  • Time to overheat
  1. M0 - 20 seconds
  2. M1 - 17 seconds (-3)
  3. M2 - 15 seconds (-2)
  4. M3 - 12 seconds (-3)
  5. M4 - 10 seconds (-2)
  • Time to cool down and recharge ( any modification ) - 2.5 seconds

Little note, vulcan takes 4-6 seconds to heat up, upper stats have nothing to do with it. Second idea.

  • Energy consumption ( recharge time for plasma stays the same )

EDIT: Parameters for upper mentioned energy consumption ( time unill energy runs out after constant shooting )

  1. M0 - 15 seconds
  2. M1 - 18 seconds
  3. M2 - 20 seconds
  4. M3 - 23 seconds
  5. M4 - 25 seconds

Im not good with names or that sort of stuff so i will put it this was. Time to fill the energy once completely used:

  • Constant of 5 seconds ( starts once you stopped firing, CANNOT shoot while charging, means any time you stop shooting, energy fills ,while energy fills at any amount you cannot  shoot )

NOTE: Over-heating and Energy consumption wouldnt be implemented both, they are two separated suggestions.

Why would time to overheat decrease as M-level increases.

 

That is making Twins worse compared to it's "peers".  Sure it does more damage at M4 - but - so do opponents.

And hull health increases, so it would be much harder for twins to destroy a tank.

Why? The reason is that if it was increasing, then at the M2+ level overheating would be unneeded because it would never actually overheat, imagine M4 twins shooting for 20 seconds? Better shoot for 10 seconds non stop. Im sure it would be enough to destroy mammoth+wasp.

 

EDIT: I agree about adding maybe fewer mroe seconds for M3-4, maybe +1-3.

Originaly tanki was bad game, now its getting better, like turrets should get better by time.

Yes. I know that turrets should improve with time, but that does not mean that turrets must be nerfed or have overheating effects that causes the hulls to suffer self overheating damage.

Overheating or energy consumption, even nerfs ARE needed with twins because it is unbalanced and op

Yes many rather poor players use Twins and a brick. But bottom line so what to that much. However what gets me is the large amount of impact. This weapon does little damage yet at the same time it can fling around a Titan like cardboard in a windstorm. Both Rico and Twins have too much impact compared to their rate of fire. I thought that past experience with Vulcan and impact force should have taught the lesson that very fast rateo f fire should no tme mated to big impact effect.
