Show how many mines are active at the moment

With Overdrive there are a lot of mines planted, and not all people are using Overdrive, imagine when all learn to use Overdrive more effectively.

yeah I hope that the tank abilities come soon...

I don't know how good it will be, and I think it will need some balance.. but the current overdrive does no good to this game imho.

Are you suggesting there be a little counter in the corner of the screen? How does that help anyone. So, if the counter says there are 10 active mines in the battle, so what? 

 

When OD is used on another player, two mines are left on the ground. If a player shares his OD with 3 players, there's 4 mines in one spot. When someone dies, the mine disappears.

 

Let's say someone on red shares an OD, the counter now says 2. Then someone on blue team shares an OD with 2 other players. Now the counter says 5. Someone on blue dies. Now the counter says 4. Someone on red uses it on himself. Counter says 5. Someone on blue starts mining a bridge and lays one mine. Counter says 6. A blue team FB uses OD on himself (add 1 to the counter) and comes on the red team and kills 3 (that have mines on the ground from a previous OD share) before he gets killed ( subtract 4 from the counter). Counter now says 3. 

 

How is this helping the game play? In a battle with OD, that counter would be changing so fast, you wouldn't have time to keep up with it and end up ignoring it anyway. 

 

If you have a specific advantage to a mne counter, then please share it with us. You didn't explain anything, give any details, purpose, nothing. When making a suggestion, please give details and tell why you are making that suggestion. Details gives you a better chance of your idea being implemented into the game.

I think it could be useful to add a little counter in the bottom corner that shows the number of placed mines on the map. For example:

Battle starts, I choose to play in defence so I start to place mines in the right positions and then I hide near the flag. The counter shows that 5 mines are currently active, but suddenly it drops to 3 and this means enemies are coming and I have to prepare myself!

Moreover, I think it could be even more useful for players who use Miner drone, because now if you place 10 mines and the drone allows only 8 to survive, if you get killed the first 2 disappear (instead if you can check their number you can place the exact quantity).

I don't see an advantage. Would the counter tell you that there is an enemy mine in the tunnel? Would it tell you that an enemy has snuck into your base and planted a mine near the flag? Or that the ramp you're about to go up has 4 enemy mines planted there? You can't see them until you're nearly on top of them. 

 

With Miner drone and Magnum's alt to shoot mines, it's possible to have 15 mines activated on the map. Fine, but where are they? I think that would just add to the paranoia that's already in the game. I have over 21k mines and drop them whenever I think about it at our base, the enemy base and anyplace in between, adding to the 15 already activated. But where are they? Are they enemy mines or friendly mines? Look at your counter and tell me.

So another piece of info that needs to be calculated repeatedly and displayed on the screen?

 

If this adds another (even small layer) to lag then no thanks.

I think this would only help if it showed mines in the enemy zone-and mines in the defensive zone-so players know if it will be easier to attack the enemies, and if their zone is defended, or if they have to be careful for mines in their own zone.

Did you know mines had a visibility nerf not long after they were implemented? Used to be that they could be seen a short but fair distance before you got to them. They materialized and were more solid looking further away than they are now. So this suggestion would give them a much bigger buff than they had in the beginning.

Its not showing their actual location-its just telling you if it exists.
