Wider health bar on tanks

Recommended Posts

The health bar on tanks are sometimes difficult to see, whether they have full health or not. My suggestion is to have the health bar on tanks to be wider so that other players can easily see the health of the tanks.

Valid
Completed

But that also means that the health bars will clutter up the interface more when viewed from far away. I don't really think this is a problem, since if you see that your teammate's health is low (or it looks like it's zero), then you know that he's about to die and there no need to have any more details.

I am not exaggerating on having a health bar that makes team mates in team battles clutter up the interface of Tanki Online. What I am asking for is to have the health bar made reasonably wider, (let's say, double the width), so that team members can easily spot the low health of his team mates.

You need to understand that there are players with poor, or impaired eye sight that cannot see the small details properly, especially when playing on low resolution monitors like 800 x 600 pixels.

It is hard to distinguish from the two kinds of green, it should be green and gray, not green and green.

Well that answers my wonder at why the damn thing is so thin. However as for the merit to the suggestion...I do not know if you play an Isida or not but from this I am guessing "not". Riddler OTOH has certainly let the forum know that he drives an Isida. I am not surprised he posted this need. And he is right.

Another good suggestion.. also make one bright and one dim for color-blind folks.. One way or the other just git er done.

Yeah. Thanks to Riddler for bringing that up.

Recording videos with a huge healthbar, it will look horrible

So what? I play games to play games not to watch videos of someone else playing a game.

Maybe make a green (high health), yellow (medium health) and red (critically low health) as well? Sorta like in Pokemon, so it might be easier to spot allies who have low health. Of course, these health bars would have to change according to team as well.

This would just block up my screen, thus what about the people who minimize their screen in order to get better FPS?

Really? Taking a narrow bar say 10 pixels wide and making it 14 pixels wide with color/brightness shading is going to ruin everything else?

Color me skeptical.

When yo are talking software the interface design is huge. You can have the most powerful coding go for naught with a crappy user interface. What I am saying is, if there is a chance to improve the interface then look into it!

Don't worry. The developers will find a suitable way to make the health bar on Tanks wider, but not too wide to ruin the display at long ranges. The developers will manage to adjust to width of the health bar according to the interface.

Players that minimize their screen to get better FPS will have the interface to automatically adjust itself to become smaller, but not disturb aspect ratio or the displayed elements on the screen.

Yes. Good idea. When a tanks health decreases, the color of the health bar could be green, then yellow, then orange and finally red when the tank has just a few HP left.

The color of the health bar would be different according to teams, red and blue team.

When I read through your ideas, I get the impression that you run a very big, high resolution monitor. Could you please post an in-battle screen shot where we see the healthbars of your teammate, if you play in fullscreen? ty :)
