In-game "Disasters"

I got this cool idea for playing Tanki Online. 

 

(Don't put this in the weather section, because an earthquake is not weather, ya dumbo)

 

The following ideas:

Hurricane

Tornado

Earthquake

 

Hurricane:

 

Up where you can see notifications, like the ones that say Possibility has taken the goldbox that is worth 127348917234k crystals, it will say 'A Hurricane is Approaching.' When the hurricane hits, it will be harder to control your tank, and it will be very foggy. 

 

Tornado:

 

'A Tornado is Approaching.' Your tank will move around and your tank will be uncontrollable. It'll help in maps like Sandbox or Gardar, where at one point you might be at the flag, and then, at the enemies flag, being destroyed

 

Earthquake

'An Earthquake is Approaching.' The ground will shake, and you might fall off the map. You could also flip, and that would cost you 5 seconds, 5 crystals and 5 experience. 

 

Each of the disaster will last 15 seconds to cause the most damage.

Sounds plausible. Are we in an enclosed space here? Because it'd just disperse in open air.

It wouldn't be total annihilation of a team, but would affect those within close range. The gas would disperse, but the effects would last a short time, like Firebird afterburn. Kinda like Firebird going into enemy base and throwing napalm on several team members. Firebird dies, but the effects remain. (Gas disperses but the effects remain).

great idea Lagnadium  ;)  this will change the game so much! i hope this gets added ASAP!! just imagine... nukes, outbreaks, tornados, earthquakes, tsunamis...  :wub:  :wub:

 

AHEM! ok so, as i was saying, this is amazing cuz:

1. less camping (tanki-wide issue)

2. more danger!!!11!1! (kinda really is excite about thats)  ;)

3. more stuff to do!

 

 

HEY!! maybe this might be a gamemode! where everyone is on the same team, and they have to survive these disasters!!

 

 

--------Ideas for possible disasters-----------

 

1. nuclear bomb (duh)

2. disease outbreak

3. gas attack

4. zombie apocalpyse

5. end of world (everyone instantly dies)

6. glitch game (cant rotate turret, cant pick up boxes, etc.)

7. grandma's vacuum (sucks in 5 unlucky victims)  :D  :D

          Oh Tankers, have you not got enough disasters yet? The mult, the lag from flooder, the fly hacker, the offender, the saboteur, the beggar, the digger, the noob magnum, the legend not turning turret? How much more you want?  :D  :lol:

Hi,

How about too many tankers in certain area (On the roof of any building, etc) can cause Earthquake? Like too many takers are in one place and your screen will start to move like it's vibrating for few seconds and if people don't move they will fall or something will happen which can make them lose their health, destroy them or upside down them or change the place where players were.

My idea explanation is not 100% correct of what actually idea was but Some players will understand what I mean and they can also reply things which can improve it. Not in TO then in TX but that Idea is great. And not the red part but how about there are chances that an Earthquake can happen in any battle. Earthquakes should be rare like Gold box but more rare then that Any It can happen on full map or half of the map or anywhere. They can delay/reset supplies dropping time. I mean big effect but chance to trigger is 1 in 10,000 battles or something like that. Coding and adding that thing is possible with unity so you can put it in TX but idk about flash so not sure f it can be added in TO but it will be hard to program but not impossible.

You need to explain why this is good for the game, because so far it seems like it would be nothing more than an occasional nuisance.

Earthquake can delay/reset supplies dropping time or take health of players or remove/reset the supplies they have equipped or in rare cases kick them from battle :lol:  :lol:  :lol: . (The white text was a joke)

I get how you want it to affect gameplay, but what I'm asking is how is this feature an improvement? All it does is add an RNG element to gameplay that does nothing other than to annoy players. It might have a nice novelty factor the first few times you encounter it, but after a while it will be merely annoying.

I am sorry but I think you are wrong. This can be great for the game, to stop unbalanced battles from spinning out of control. If one team makes more than 10 spawn kills {within first 10 seconds of a spawn} in one area in one minute-it causes an earthquake to give spawners a chance.

Also when the terrain is unfair and a 'tectonic plate' (out of average of 6 plates per battlefield) is used for 15 more kills for one team than the other in 2 min. it starts to 'unbalance' and the next kill within 30 seconds causes an earthquake.

This can one or two players from taking over a battle.

(although exception for certain modes i.e. Juggernaut should be made.)

Please explain why you think this wouldn't work.

People who live in the western U.S. have enough problems with earthquakes in real life, now you want them to deal with earthquakes in a game? I'm sure if I thought about it long enough I could find a lag in there someplace.

So you want that nothing in tanki should be something that people have to deal with in real life?!

No shooting-because we have to deal  shooters in real life. No desert themed maps-since Western U.S. was in a drought last year.

No more freeze since people often get ill from the cold;

No firebird since some tankers houses may have burnt down.

No mines since maybe someone has a family member who is a veteran and got injured by a mine.

No crystals-since maybe someone doesnt have money in real life.

 

This makes NO sense so its okay to have an earthquake effect even if you deal with it in real life!

Then how about any event? Add Earthquake feature in an event for 1 week. It will not be annoying for a week.

No shooting-because we have to deal  shooters in real life. No desert themed maps-since Western U.S. was in a drought last year.

No more freeze since people often get ill from the cold;

No firebird since some tankers houses may have burnt down.

No crystals-since maybe someone doesnt have money in real life.

Okay, here's my thoughts on earthquakes:

 

Devs are having enough problems with lag. It's been around ever since 2009, with some short intermittent times when lag was only occasionally. Seems every time they do a graphics update or introduce more dynamics the lag gets worse. Of course server instability has a hand in it, too. Now, you want the screen to shake? The ground to shake and crumble? There have been many suggestions about introducing weather effects. 

 

Instead of repeating what has already been discussed, read for yourself.
