Asphalt 8: Airborne - Getting the DeZir

So, today, I'm doing something a little different.

If any of you have played Asphalt 8: Airborne, then you surely must know the horrors of going up against a Renault DeZir in multiplayer. Even if you try as hard as you can, the loss is inevitable as you can only watch the driver disappear far into the distance. No matter what other car you use, nothing can match its immense speed.

The worse part of it is the fact you can't just get one with the Credits you earn - the only way is to get it with Tokens, which are either bought with money or won in small amounts during special events.

But the exhilaration of driving one, should you be lucky enough to obtain one, is pure euphoria. The little hum of the small electric car as it zooms to top speed in just seconds, the seconds quickly gaining between you and the other drivers, could make anyone feel triumphant.

The Renault DeZir is an electric car, and respectively, has a longer nitro duration than that of standard cars. Although, this car has a rather low top speed of 111.8 mph, that's easily made up for by the sheer boosting power, which brings it up to 154.4 mph! That's 42.6 mph extra!

With a nitro efficiency of 6, 5 being the best and 10 the worst, you can expect a long duration of boosting. Trigger a "perfect nitro" you'll have level 3 nitro power, which is second best, where "infected" nitro is most powerful in terms of speed in "Infected" mode. So, in "Classic" or "Eliminator" mode, the "Perfect nitro" is what you should aim for, being the strongest.

Other cars might out match it in speed, but the way to get ahead in Asphalt 8: Airborne is to keep your boost going as long as you can, which is no problem for the Renault DeZir. So, where the "faster" cars might get ahead at the start, they'll have a longer time where they won't be boosting, thus giving the DeZir a huge advantage.

Although, there are tracks where ramps don't exist to gain nitro from air time, flat spins and barrel rolls, so you'll have to be very careful.

You should notice form the DeZir's stats, that the nitro power can be upgraded quite a bit, and I'm going to guess that it can muster up at least 70 mph from boosting at max.

With this in mind, upgrading the nitro should be your main focus, to leave all other cars in the dust. also, there are C class vehicles such as the Rage Rover which challenges the DeZir, so this will help you leave even them in the dust. Although, you should be careful with how much you upgrade it because you'll face C class cars naturally above 900 in performance rank.

In multiplayer, this car should be your 1st choice in season events where your rating goes up highest when you gain first place, and the higher your rating, the better rewards you get at the end.

As fast as this car may be, the starts are rough without a nitro starter to give you full nitro at the start of your races. If you choose not to, be aware you will fall behind until you can build up some boost. But once you get ahead of the pack, you're home free for an easy win...unless another opponent has the same car.

That'll be fun.

Until you can get the DeZir, I would recommend the DS Survolt, a B class car which costs only 8,000 (NOW 45,000 AS OF A RECENT UPDATE) credits and is also electric, but isn't as over powered when compared to other cars of its class. Use this car to try and grind out the 180 tokens you'll need and once you get the DeZir, it's easier to win than taking candy from a baby.

Also, if you plan to use the Desired in Multiplayer races, upgrades of (0,0,0,5) and pro upgrades of (0,2,0,2) for a car rank below 850 and about 190 mph. This with the +128 boost this car gets from tuning kits, the Porsche 959s won't exactly have a great get away.

Howeger, I suggest only using this car until you can afford an S class car. Starting out as an ameteur, needing 4th or better, you'll gain rating at least +10 or more. Edited September 7, 2017 by Sliced

I used to play A8, got bored after I got all the most interesting cars under a million credits. Haven't played for about a year and since then there have been a ton of new updates and cars so I might get back into it.

Pro. This is literally my favorite D-Class car.  :wub: Managed to get a hold of it soon after it was released and have never regretted it lol. Took a while to get enough Tokens from all the events and etc, but totally worth it. I played a lot of A8 for a while, and even now look at it occasionally, except now I've gotten to the point where I have to buy cars of 1,000,000+ coins and it's really just not happening.

 

My favorite car is my Maxed out and Pro-Tier C-Class Lotus

Nitro efficiency is a huge thing, too. By that I mean the duration of the nitro, where the DeZir's takes 69 years to run out and the Ford GT's is gone before you can blink. Cars such as the Pagani Zonda R from the A-class, which costs 110,000 credits (not coins :3), have a good efficiency of 15 at level three nitro (perfect nitro). This is only 3 more than the DeZir, so it'll run out a little faster.

 

Also if you want, just look up the car you want to get on youtube. [insert car name] Asphalt 8: Airborne multiplayer

 

And check things like the steering, how fast the nitro runs out, the acceleration, etc.

There was another multiplayer called Real Racing 3 (you can look it up online) that has the Renault Dezir Concept (I think that's what it's full name is according to the game) it's basically described as an electric with a low top speed, but with such ridiculous power.

Only down side of that form tilt is when I need to make really wide drifts, I have to tap the left or right buttons just right, where on tilt I got exactly what I wanted.

I got the DeZir a while ago during the month or so that I played A8. Great car and very fun to use.

 

However, I restarted the game yesterday after reading this. The game froze multiple times during a race, forcing a restart (though somethimes it didn't freeze at all). After 1 restart I came back on to find this.

 

 

So yeah, that was the end of that. I was, quite frankly, disgusted that I had been banned for their issues, since my PC was running perfectly.

 

Deleted A8. Probably won't be trying it again any time soon.

That's the issue with A8. It's never their end that's the problem.

I got the DeZir on the strength of this article, had got a lot of tokens from daily bonuses, and when I first used it, I kept coming in last. Then, when I actually started using the boosts to max it, I started coming in 1st or second. The worst enemy you can have is the Dodge Dart GT from what I know, it has a good Top Speed without boost and can easily beat you in the maps with less boost.

If its so hard to compete with a Dezir, just overtune your car. Dezir users prey on similarly ranked but far slower players. If not, just use a different MP car all together.

Yeah, but in Multiplayer I am always paired with Dodge Darts, and they can often put me back to 4th place, even 5th. I don't exactly prey on slower guys, but I am put with some cars like the Audi R8 E-Tron that don't have much chance, except on the less Nitro-filled maps.

I have the Audi R8, Dodge Dart, Ferrari 458, Renault DeZir, Lambo Veneno, Ferrari 612 Scaglietti, Renault Clio something-or-other, DS Survolt, and the suzuki bike. I may have something else, but I think not.

For MP, I'd suggest you the Bike, it's quick acceleration and decent nitro as well as purple nitro make it optimum for MP

I see. Tesla model S is hard to use.

 

Word of advice, don't buy Ford GT when you can afford it; it costs over 1,000,000 credits to max.
