Now you can't create battles?

Who creates the non-pro battles? There is hardly any choice and what happened to maps like skyscrapers? I don't know how anyone in their right mind can think these updates are of benefit to the game. There used to be more battles, more variety and more players online. Like another guy said, most games are blowouts and non-competitive. Maybe I'm online at the wrong time of day or something.

Press the ''battle'' button to creat non-PRO battles. It generates a random map.

It's not you. I've never seen more than 29k players on this game. I've heard in the past that it had 100k idk if it's true but seeing as how many subs Tanki's YouTube channel has it might be.

Surely even a moderator must agree these changes are well, not very useful for MOST tankers.

Why would I say what I think of an update before it has even been released and I haven't tried it?

We'll see. A major issue I see that I wouldn't want to be put into a random map and team. I know it was announced to still keep custom battles to choose from separately, but I have no doubt TO will force players into using the matchmaking system if it proves to be too unpopular.


The aim of the matchmaking is to attract mainly new players and mobile players. I expect that the character and differences of some maps will become less strong by creating unified maps for 10v10. The focus should be to bring the importance of the map into the background. A way to influence the strength of your team is to build up your battle group.

 

This is my understanding as well.
Join a battle with wasp/rail and end up in a slug-fest map full of hammers and twins - good luck.
Or reverse... Solimansk with a Titan/Firebird.

 

This is basically happening already.
I have a "Super-mission" which can't be completed in Pro-Battles.
So even though I dislike supplies, guess where I'm "encouraged" to play...


You won't be able to see a normal battle in the battle list. The 30 sec. warming-up phase is to let all players join in in time and to have time to get the appropriate gun + hull for the map, in which you entered. So that shouldn't be a big problem.

 

For those that don't like or don't have drugs, Tanki nerfed the drugs and gave them free drugs & effects through the Overdrive(s).

 

That was not my opinion, but just my understanding of what Tanki's answers are to address the problems, that you guys mentioned. But my opinion on supermissions is just to toss them. Anyway, I still think that the random maps thing will still be a major issue. I got two ideas which might solve this, but let's see. If we older players feel MM is giving up too much freedom and fun though getting mission reward, we should stick to pro battles.

 

 

What? Custom battles won't yield experience or crystals?


He said private battles won't yield xp and crystals, whereas other custom battles will yield xp and crystals.

Ohhhhhh... whew.

 

Guess he could have said you can have 1 vs 1 in Custom Battles... "private" are a sub-set of Custom, right?

No XP or fund? It rather sounds bleak if you ask me. I just don't see a benefit to any developers or any players. The way it works now is perfectly fine.

Powerleveling, mults, high-ranks destroying low ranks and many more problems are not 'perfectly fine' in my eyes.

Have developers not thought to make these ''private'' battles visible only to moderators? Or to just make them visible to all players but only allow those who are invited or click the link in the chat to join?

Private battle are already visible to battle moderators. But hiring enough moderators to oversee all battles is an unrealistic option. 

 

Making them visible to all players would make the battle list extremely annoying and cluttered with battles you cannot join.

Do Devs consider a Gismo and a Legend 15 one rank apart?  Or 15 ranks apart?

 

Huge difference in battle results depending on how it is done...

Ugh - at least currently when I have to play normal I can at least view competition before joining the battle.

 

Won't be much of a "match" if Gismos regularly play against tankers with equivalent of 15 more levels.

 

Even more incentive not to play.

The system will always prioritise your rank before expanding the bracket if there aren't enough players. You are probably unlikely to run into too many overpowered Legend 15s to be honest.

If the MM works good then normally Legends will play against Legends. If there are not enough of Legends then you will probably play with them. I don't think it will differentiate between Legend 1 and Legend 15 regarding the ranks. It still might don't put those two together in a battle, because the MM also looks on the equipment level of your garage and hopefully this includes the MU level as well.

You've nailed what's been bugging me subconsciously about matchmaking. Loss of favored map choice was obvious, but joining with the wrong equipment is a major shortcoming. It's not just turrets but hulls and modules too. End up on Brest or Highways without Shaft and Rail protection? You're toast.

 

IMO the designers are trying to 'simplify' the game one piece at a time without also simplifying complex related pieces. In this case - automating map selection but leaving out the intelligence necessary to select a map appropriate for the player's equipment :blink:

It's true. I've been around since summer 2013 and the game was a lot more active and better then, no matter what anyone says.

Yes that is a huge problem. Playing against high ranking legends is fruitless as they have 50% protection against every weapon in the garage (apart from magnum I suppose). If I reach legend 1 I don't want to be playing against them.

Considering Legend 1 and Legend 25 the same rank is silly.  That's 24 levels of gaining crystals and upgrading garages.

 

I know it was even worse back when everyone was just a Generalisimo. But at least then you had choice on what battles to join.

 

I don't see the point of appending a # to Legend if they are not treating them as different ranks.
