Asking Questions

I want to ask:

What programming language does Tanki Online currently use? (I know they are in the process of upgrading to HTML5)

How does Tanki Online make their money? (Obviously in-game purchases, but what else?)

Is there any other information you would like to share about the mechanics? (Actual programming mechanics; not game mechanics)

I am a young entrepreneur and programmer. I want to create a game or app for myself and I have played Tanki Online for 1-2 years. I really love what AlternativaPlatform has done to make this Tanki Online and Tanki X. Like I said before, I want to create something for myself that I can put out there and generate revenue.

Please respond As Soon As Possible.

I believe the game itself uses ActionScript, the programming language used for creating Flash-based video games.

Of course there's a lot more to it than that, but AS most likely plays a role.

Tanki is currently running on Flash, but that's a game engine, not a programming language. As for language - not sure, I think I heard Python being mentioned somewhere, but don't take my word for it.

In-game purchases is all it is. There's no in-game advertisement or merchandise. Tanki used to have a gift shop for Russian users, but that closed down a few years ago. At the moment all income is from stuff in game (crystals, paints, Premium, clans, Gold boxes, kits, bundles).

Developers don't really post stuff like that on the forums. And you need much more specific questions, since, as you may imagine, there are a lot of components involved in the development of this game besides game mechanics.

Thank you! Where should I go to ask my questions directly to the developers? (not in real life)

Well, like I said - they don't really do personal Q&A with players. But you can try and send a PM to (the lead dev for TO), or ask questions via an email to help@tankionline.com

Thank you! You have been so helpful. I'm doing a project for myself and I thought if I wanted to create my own online game where better to go then my favorite one? Tanki Online!

Good luck with your project!

Now, I'll have to close this topic since we don't actually allow creation of topics for asking questions. If you have any more questions, you can post them in the Q&A topic.

Closed.
