Attention: Reworked Amateur Section

 Share

Recommended Posts

Hello, writers!

Amateur Writing section was established more than a year ago and we are really happy you're still posting your work here. In those 14 months or so, you managed to create almost 500 topics, some of them of substantial quality that is on par with those of Newspaper.

We definitely want to support every writer in this community and create a suitable, fair writing environment. Based on preliminary discussions with project assistants, we decided to implement few changes that will bring more organization to the section and solve few problems like topic bumping.

We divided the section into two parts. The main section that will contain the announcements and the most recent topics posted by you and the Amateur Writing Archive that will store the older articles. In other words, new topics will no longer be buried by the bumped old topics and will receive their spotlight. Older topics (older than 60 days) will still be accessible in the Archive section. Amateur Writing helpers will maintain the section at regular intervals.

We hope you'll find this reworked system more attractive.

Best regards,

Flexoo, Newspaper Administrator.

Organisation is good. But isn't the word 'archive' too harsh?

I don't think so. Most of the sections (if not all) that store older topics are called this way, so I don't think we crossed any line with this term.

The word is ominous. Nobody likes to get their topics 'archived'

Sorry, but the AWC has been running for a year now, and it had accumulated over 500 active topics and countless hidden ones (spam, advertisement or unapproved topics). These totaled up to tens of pages that made moderating difficult, so we decided to make an AWC archive where all of the older topics would be stored. I mean they're not locked behind bars, you can still access them.
