Keeping players score even if he leaves battle

Here. I would like this to be shown as topic because im pretty sure there are no ideas like this ( only if search button isnt working ). So. If player has score of 1500 and like 100 kills, 50 deaths ( 2.0 DL ), he leaves battle that lasts 60 mins ( leaves at 30 mins to go, lagged out or any reason ), he joins back at 25 mins to go and his score and DL are back. Im pretty sure there is no way to power level this so it can be very ussefull. Addittionaly you can make the system that makes following: if player comes in 5 minutes or less then moment he left he gets score and DL back. These numbers about each player can be stored in some micro-battle storrage in certain form, like every battle can have a small storage of 1 kilobyte, and every players score and DL can take up about 10 bytes. If you cannot make the storage system work, then make "battle" remember your last score and DL for next 5 mins. Idk which one is easier for you to do and implement but it will surely help and improve laggout, internet break problems. Thanks

A similar system is already in the game:

If a player lags out or looses his connection for any reason, the whole battle stats are saved for a period of 2 minutes. During this time the battle slot is reserved for this player (no other player can use this slot). This reservation makes sense, because when you lose your connection and manage to login again during those 2 minutes, it would all be futile if your battle slot would be taken by someone else. But this reservation comes also with a downside: no one can jump in for you in the meanwhile and help your team.

 

Now your proposal has two things that make it different from the current implementation:

1) you propose to enlarge the timer from 2 min to 5min

Sorry.. declined. Reserving a battle slot for 5 minutes given a 15min default battle time is a bit too tough for the team you play with.

2) you stated that the player should be able to "go"

..what I understand as simply leaving the battle, doing something else, and come back >> 5 min later <<. I doubt that your teammates would appreciate that.. this would not encourage a better game play.

 

(It maybe makes sense in a 4h pro battle, to take a 30min break in order to eat with your family, while your slot is not reserved, and later on you have the chance to join back (like any other random player) but still having your score. But that's a completely different story)

Sorry.. declined. Reserving a battle slot for 5 minutes given a 15min default battle time is a bit too tough for the team you play with.

but sometimes 2 minutes isn't enough time to restart my computer, reload the game and log in. I think this 2 minutes should be longer for 999 battles because they are more important in terms of the score you couls be losing. maybe make it 2 minutes for regular 15 minutes battles but have the ratio of reservation time to battle time 2:15.

But those long-time battles have issues with mults.. and if you prolong the time, you create a mult problem on the other side.

 

 

By the way.. does your _computer_ truely crash? My computer is actually pretty old already, and it barely crashes, running a curret OS.

 

The browser crashes, the flash clients and plugins crash, the game crashes.. but most things can be solved via the taskmanager within 30seconds, leaving me 1,5min to reload the software (no need to restart the PC).

If my WLAN router get's stuck, it is online again in less then 1 minute.

 

So is a computer crash truely a usecase that happens often enough, to sacrifice the chance to get rid of some(!) mults within 2 minutes?

I need to say that many times my internet broke, i restart router in about 30 seconds, come back to loading screen in maybe 15 more (as i use client) and it almost never puts me back in battle... And i am being honest here, because it happened many times. The reason why i made this topic is that i never even knew that there is a system like this implemented as i almost never seen (those 2 minutes) in action.

Can you give an example of how the URL (the adress in the browser) looks like?

I play through client. If i want to reconect after internet breaks and all tanks go in cicrcles, like 10 seconds after that i go click exit, turn OFF the ON the bluetooth as soon as it connects i go in client. It doesnt look like more then 2 mins. But now i learnt how to refresh the game and not get kicked out. I turn the bluetooth of ( of  course i refresh only if FPS is low ) and then i go out of client fast and do the same as mentioned above but veeery fast. Maybe before i was slow idk.
