Testing of Matchmaking System on EU servers

I think this is one of the updates which REALLY will make tanki great.

Except for the match making part tho x| ( i dont want to fight with those damn op m2 druggers )

Pardon the intrusion, but I have some advice: Your garage (to me) appears to be a damn mess. You might have better equipment (IDK the upgrade level on the rail and Hornet) if you lay off the paints and modules variety. I really need to to get a m2 or a m1 module, but I am spending all my crystals MUing my turrets.

Hating on updates without knowing what they are or seeing/reading official announcement topics is nothing but ignorance.

Everyone practically "hates" the Matchmaking System because they keep thinking that these rank brackets are final; that all ranks can play with each other. They keep thinking that there will be lag after this update, there will be annoying errors and timing delays in Matchmaking System. No one cared to notice when Semyon said - I'm literally saying this for the 10th time now - this implementation was only a TEST to see how the real servers would handle the load of the MM under real player load. All timings, rank brackets and other values are still to be decided.

And what YOU don't seem to understand (and I think some others already noted) is that 1) you asked for feedback, now you're complaining about the feedback you're getting, and 2) People are upset because they believe that while the bugs they identify might be fixed, the main concept, which is flawed, will be implemented REGARDLESS of player feedback.  Because we've seen it before.  Tell me I'm wrong.

I want matchmaking back again please! doing missions have become such a pain in the arse again now, i need to cap 3 flags but the only CTF battles i see are ones where the team i can join is the one that is losing; because everyone on the losing side leaves and no one wants to join those sides so when i join i get outnumbered almost 2 to 1 in my own base. we really need matchmaking back again asap, this unfairness cannot last any longer.

Clueless statement, just trolling I guess. There might be valid reasons for preferring matchmaking, but easing daily missions is certainly not among them. Actually, one goal of the devs with matchmaking is to make daily mission harder (no shortcuts anymore), which I consider a misconception (they're not supposed to be difficult, just an incentive to enter the game and play a bit each day).

Hint how to do that mission: go to a server with few players, create a new CTF battle using the battle button (or join one with few players), invite a friend and cap 3 flags. Done in 2 min, i.e. about as long as you'll have to wait to enter a matchmaking battle..

I wasn't even able to do simple missions like earn 500 crystals in battles, pick up drugs just because of  dumb as hell system... Takes ages to find the right battle with the right map and team. Only druggers and buyers are winning these no-skilled games. Worst update, make the rewards of missions 5x or do away with matchmaking forever

Apart from the silly team imbalances because Devs wanted to "test" loads (you couldn't think of a better way?)...

The worst part of MM was not being able to choose the map.

Many people have favorite maps they regularly play, and some maps they absolutely won't play (Iran I'm looking at you).

Taking away this choice will have a negative effect. Forcing people into random maps because you want those maps filled is wrong. Many people will not play the MM system if you do it this way.

Plus..entering a random map with incorrect equipment (massacre in a Titan/Firebird) you then have to spend the first part of the battle switching gear. And then having garage slowly load. And maybe the battle was half-over.  In a battle that was only ten minutes long.

There's another gripe.  10-minute battles are too short. Are you building this for people with ADD?

Love it when MM placed me in a battle with 50 seconds left. What a waste of time.

I did read the announcement and still do not like the MM.  It was a waste of everybody's time that this test lasted 48 hours, 24 hour would have been long enough. So if this "feature" is implemented i will leave tanki.  After all "updates" the fun is already less then a year ago. Look at the numbers of people playing: 40.000/50.000 on a very good day at prime time but most of the time less then 25.000.

I hated the new system, at first

Hear me out

Change is difficult no matter what, especially with how much time people have vested into the game. Everyone will always hate change for the first few rounds.

But then you notice that this way gets you into GOOD games much easier. before you always had to wait to get onto a winning team, or be on the lopsided losing side. The new match making system had much better matches, and were much more even in terms of score. Before whatever team started with the most players got an early easy advantage and then caused other players to rage quit, with the new system each side starts with an equal number of players in theory.

They definitely need to allow some preferences for matchmaking: clan, maps maybe, etc.

But overall I would think the new system is better and more in line with other VS. online game matchmaking systems.

Matchmaking getting you into good battles is simply not true. Now when you get sent into a battle, you dont know what the outcome is until its too late. The enemy team could be full of m4 drugging legends, or a bunch of noob m1s.

While I too would love have control over my map, the 70+ selection of maps on Tanki is way too large. I have 0 opposition for tanki choosing 10 maps to permanently be in the matchmaking system, and then another 20 that rotate each month. Pre MM, post NoobMissionUpdate, how many non-pro battles on these maps have you fought?:

-Duality

-Courage

-Deck9

-Canyon

-Noise

-Wave

-Atra

You get my drift?

I think rotating maps would bring variety to life and allow the players to be concentrated. Alternatively, TO could scrape up some $$$$ and pay for advertising, to bring a few thousand more players in, and then we might be OK.

Canyon and deck 9 arent in the non-pro roulette.

not sure if anyone else noticed that when they removed this test that they also removed the open chat indicator that told you if that player was in a battle . not sure if other items were also removed .. this is what i noticed

Totally disagree, the more maps the better. Tanki X sucks because there are only a handful of maps. Different maps are suited for different combos. You left off so many good and popular and underrated maps, Rio, Alexandrovsk, Future, Opposition, Silence, Sandbox, Cross, Chernobyl, Industrial Zone, Year 2042, Novel, Pass and many others.

Chernobyl is horrible now because of magnum. You can just sit behind the walls on the top tower and bombard the enemy base.

Magnum is annoying but I find if you don't stay in one place too long, you don't get hit as often, I just came in first place in a Chernobyl TDM with Viking/Ricochet. Try to sneak up on Magnums to catch them off guard, Rico is good for knocking off their aim.

...

I understand that many of you were unhappy with this test. But please, I need you to understand that this was A TEST. We wanted to see how the system would work under a proper server load. THAT is how you find flaws in a system — you stress-test it.

...

You don't stress test a new system that has not been validated to work properly.  You verify the system is working and then stress test to find where you need to make optimizations or add resources.

I love this game, its dynamics and all the work put in it by the dev's over the past years.

But as an 'older player' (since 2011) and project- and ICT-consultant, with sad feelings I must advice you:

TO and its company is moving in the wrong direction, so much is clear from the many negative reactions to the last 10-15 updates in English and Russian Forum.

I advice you the following:

(1) above ALL: install a council of serious long standing player sof different ranks and countries as a customer board to advice you

(2) bring back daily missions in pro battles and maintain all kinds of formats

(3) bring back crystal drops in the game for the lower rank players and for the fun

(4) your prices of guns, hulls, moderations, etc. are way to high, bring them down for the sake of new players.

Thank you for listening and taking my advice in consideration.

Yeahh its a cool trick, but Chernobyl map not for 10 vs 10,it needs more than 10 like right now. They are going to release something which is absolutely pointless.

I think you misunderstood me, my list was a list of less popular maps. Rio, Alex, Future, Silence, Cherny, IZ, Year 2042, Novel, Pass are OFTEN picked by the computer, at the expense of my original list. We don't know the true popularity of your maps, because the server repeatedly dishes them up day after day with no rotation.

Yep, if you keep moving and/or outflank the Maggies, they're toast.

Im good with magnum on an alt, its very easy to hit a tank if you can predict where it will go and if you try to sneak up on it, it will still hit you once. It does a ridiculous amount of damage.

I have an idea, to improve the development of game and the quality of content and feedbacks in the Forum:

- 10 Free Posts in News and Announcements per Day.

- Each post after that should cost the player 100 crystals.

- Bozo owes the company about 12000 crystals.

Thank you.
