Testing of Matchmaking System on EU servers

I missed the testing of the matchmaking system. Anyone who can give a quick overview of how he experienced it?

Hey Falco-

IMO the hate in this thread is way overblown. The rank mismatch happened and that was not good. Load times varied but we're not that bad. The map changes were interesting and brought a spice of newness to the game.

Controversial is that they also hid mission progress so that you cannot see it in battle - ostensibly to keep players from leaving once they complete missions. This surfaces as a bug report from players but Tanki later admitted in a vlog that the change was intentional.

Also uneasy was a change to battle fun distribution - the lions share went to those as the top of the leaderboard with those lower getting much much less. Think exponential curve instead of the current more or less linear distribution.

There will be more tests, just like what happened with overdrives, so we will probably see this again in a production test scenario.

I think they also plan to remove server selection from PRO battles.

Those are the highlights as I remember them.

Thanks for the informative summary. :)

Sorta like the 2012 rebalance that had everyone crying except it was only one update. But in that category of badness.

Hahaha, nice comparison. :p

Tired of bad updates I'm going to delete my account ....anyone know how you do it.

click change password, write "sadnmvnlakdjasd" or something similar, put it in confirm password, and click ok. Then try to forget what you wrote.

since copy (ctrl + c) is disabled in password, write your "sadnmvnlakdjasd" in notepad or something, and paste it from there into passsword and confirm password.

this should work.

All in all, any so called company that has to run tests like this one live shows their unrivalled amount of incompetence. It's a huge time waster to see those inapt russian developers fool around implementing one unnecessary update after the other, while spending a huge amount of time making video blogs about how foolish they were and what foolish they are going to do next.

As if players are interested in excuses. The are NOT! They want playable game that runs properly. And Tanki simply is not.

We have seen the amount of astonishment from payers wondering who Tanki could be so stupid this time and asking them to stop with this stupidity. In a civilized company, a question asked will be responded to. Not this company.

So go on you fools, buy more supplies, buy more upgrades for your hulls and turrets, buy those so called fancy paints hahaha you are en emberassment to yourself! Even more than Tanki is!

Tanki this Match Making System test got me stressing out about the update. Because when this system is finally implimented in the game, players will be sent to random battles. Since most maps in tanki is large maps, my shortrange firebird will be USELESS in these large maps.

This will affect ALL players that traditionally play in small maps since day one in the game.

DEVELOPERS, you guys need to please wake up.

Reamber tanki is nothing without the players, so give the players what they want.

Or just quit your jobs and bring back SIMYON, the previous tanki online community manager.

May I ask what bringing back Semyon will do? Community manager is not responsible for the updates. Besides, Cedric is leaving anyway.

You can create your own battles anytime you want just like we can do but those maps will just not count towards missions so if you want to finish your daily missions, you gotta do them by choosing one of the mach making system formats such as CP,CTF,DM,TDM.

Here we go again. Nobody wants to play in pro battles anymore because you cant complete you missions in them. No missions = starved for crystals. You can complete you missions, but you have to go through the unending torture that is the matchmaking system.

Anyone player thinks the matchmaking system sucks. It's boring because we can't create own battle, just we will play randomly battles??? no, thanks, then no one will play tanki online

You couldn't be more wrong! The matchmaking system allows all players without PRO pass to create battles, as well as play in normal ones. Were you here when the system had its open testing?

Developers weren't thinking when they made an update like that. It's a big reason why people leave battles. Do missions then leave.

I am hoping that Matchmaking solves the issue where friends play random people, some people create a good list of friends who are good players, while others who don't play a lot have few friends. The problem is that when groups of friends fight random people, the battle becomes one sided easily.

What Matchmaking should do is make sure random players only fight other random players, and groups of friends only fight other groups of friends. To do that our lists of friends should be taken into account. It could be like clans, where we can have a number of friends and when those friends select the same buttons as us to play random battles we are sent to the same team.

Then I have good news for you, because this is exactly what will happen in the match making system..;p

During the test, you were able to create a group of up to 5 players, with which you could play matchmaking battles against other groups only. You could also randomly join games by yourself, where it's not possible to invite your friends to.

I think randoms where fighting friends during the test, and that system where you select up to five of your friends for a battle can be abused if the system doesn't take into consideration your entire friend list, because you can end up fighting with your friends on both sides of the battle, that could lead to multing and more.

It could possibly lead to sabotage indeed, but the chance of someone from your friends list ending up in the same battle on the opposite team is quite slim. Apart from that, many players like battling against their friends also. See it as friendly competition, so the game doesn't intend to forbid friends from playing against each other.

I wonder what happens, if a clan forms 2 battle groups of 4 players each, and when they are ready they start to search for battles.

A very likely - but also very unwanted . result could (!) be, that they end up in the same battle, adding by some randoms :P

mult 3.0

But let's see what we get. At least, there would be an easy fix to that.

Any recent news about the matchmaking system, yet?

Nothing so far, just keep an eye on this section and on the VLOGs and you'll find out as soon as there's news.
