Hi, I'm Poss, and I want to propose a new day that we celebrate here in Tanki Online. 

 

I want to celebrate Veterans Day in Tanki Online, because, obviously this is about tanks, fighting, and it would be cool to celebrate it. Respecting veterans and warriors in the military is something we celebrate in the United States, and I want Tanki Online to celebrate it.

Tanki does already celebrate the Russian equivalent - the "Dfenders of the Fatherland Day".

So it makes sense on one hand. On the other hand there are more then 190 countries in the world, so we could have such a thing every other day in average.

Maybe they could cycle through the largest (in terms of players) countries

If you like the players to accept it as a general veterans day for all nations, then you should propose a more neutral date.

Posting an idea in a forum (any forum, not only here) means to set it out to the feedback of players.

I just reflected back to you how some players would get the idea, and as far as I can tell, I was neither unpolite nor harsh.

Get used to criticism and disagreement, if you like to participate here :)

 

So feel free to improve the idea yourself, with the feedback you get - but only if you like to, as it is your idea.

That's your job.

 

On the other hand it's my job to differentiate between ideas that do good to the game, and ideas that mean harm (to the game by too many sales in a row or the community if you prefer one country for no reason over others) and to judge them alike.

In other words, you received a chance to improve your idea. Feel free to use it if you like

This isn't just a typical idea. This is a monstrous task, because not only do the devs have to make it so it won't kill its economy, but also set it to a date to where everyone from all the different nations are cool with.

but it could work if the proposal would be about "make one veterans day" for all nations, and propose to let tanki themselfes pick the date.

They know when a sale fit into their usual plan of a year without too much of a disturbance; and they have marketing people whose job it is to find an apropriate date.

They also know about critical resources, like you can not have two decorated events to close together because of the graphics people have to craft all that artwork and the gifts.

You could Roll Australia into that one, we have one on the 11/11, which hails from WW1, ours is just a minute silence... (Remembrance Day)  11am 11/11 is Armistice day from WW1, its not just American. I think the only ones it could offend would be neo-nazis and German Monarchists... one I don't know that we care about much, and the other, not sure how many thre are.

as said.. I think it makes sense to leave the date open (and collect only proposals), as the marketing people at Tanki have to earn their bread crumbs as well :p
