[Special] A Test in Review: The Matchmaking System

 Share

Recommended Posts

As I've said before, the MM System reminds me of ObamaCare - it creates a problem that didn't exist, it penalizes those whom it was created to protect, and it removes freedom of choice and fines those who don't need it or didn't want to be a part of it in the first place.

Trump promised he'd repeal it, but what we got, or will get, is "repeal and replace," which will solve nothing. This is the same rhetoric I'm hearing from TO. But in your self-deception, just like our lib-tards, you think you're doing the world a favor by offering a solution to a problem YOU created.

I don't see the issue though. Maybe I shouldn't have called them dishonest, because I didn't mean that, that's why I put it in quotation marks. Tanki noticed they introduced a bad system, hence players we finishing their missions too easily, easier than they anticipated. They didn't release missions for players to pick up boxes in an empty battle and and get up to 2,000 crystals for it.

It was being abused, and that was Tanki's fault for releasing a flawed system, so they fixed it. Now it may be harder to complete missions as easily, but it's what they wanted in the first place.

Either way, notice that I mentioned that as I side point. People weren't really complaining about picking up boxing, but more about not being able to complete other missions, such as "Destroy enemies," because their combo isn't fit for that particular map.

It's actually a good idea. Perhaps the reason they aren't doing that is because it'd be too many variations. PRO-Battles, regular battles, and MM battles. Nonetheless, good idea.

It seems like, even after all that text, your only complaint is the rank brackets, which, if you read a mods post, watched the V-LOG, read this article, you'd know that it was a flaw which is going to be fixed.

See! you sound like one of the developer. You don't understand what we are trying to say! The old system we can see the rank brackets, in some rank brackets, the top rank would be Marshal and in some it would be legends, if I want to pick a map with Marshal as the last rank in the bracket, I will go to that battle, but now we don't have the privilege to choose the rank bracket. Also, you have mentioned after all the text and V-logs my concern is rank brackets, yes it is one of my concern like how developers want to push MM when majority of the players are unhappy about it.

I am good with shaft, during giveaways, your developers and matchmaking will not let me to play in the map where I am skilled so that is an issue for me and for every tanker. At first, in one of the v-logs you said there are many turrets in the garage that we can choose, but now, we have to get short range, medium range and long range turrets. Implementing this match making without proper considerations will be a big blow to this game and will definitely loose players. Speaking to wall is same like the developers. You know what is feedback? Feedback is a response which helps the developer to shape up the system so that it favors everyone. But, here it was way opposite, when we give a feedback and you give us a counter feedback, lol, this is not how it works.

1. Every time I have to wait

2. I cannot choose may map

3. I cannot choose the rank bracket like I do now

4. I am being pushed to buy a short range, long range, medium range turrets because the maps influence the turrets and we cannot choose the map we are skilled in.

5. Either I get slaughtered or to be a buyer or leave tanki, the options after MMS

6. Giveaway will be headache and a rampage.

7. My skill will be inconsistent because, new maps every time so have to equip turrets every time.

Advantages :

Increase in sales as developers expected.

Why shouldn't it 'take away'? If 1000 people disapprove and 100 approve, you end up with 900 disapprovals, not 100 approvals.

By all means create a system that the 100 can use, but forcing the other 900 to use it to complete missions is topsy-turvy. How about missions can only be completed in a normal map-choosing battle list, and see how popular all the benefits of 'populated, unpopular maps' are for non-missions?

I mean - if MMS has benefits to the players they will flock to it, without being forced, won't they? You think that even if you keep the battle list - for missions - then the MMS will be more popular, right? Put that on the EU servers and see...

I think the MAJOR reason that Matchmaking will fail is that people like using THEIR SPECIAL EQUIPMENT on those battles where that equipment works best for them. By having RANDOM BATTLES and being THROWN INTO LOST BATTLES, their playing experience is vastly degraded. However, the object of Tanki is not to make an enjoyable game, but to make one that generates revenue -- forcing players to have equipment for any possible map or wasting their time waiting, joining, and leaving battles.

Just as the OVERDRIVE was designed primarily to generate SUPPLY SALES, so the Matchmaking is designed to generate EQUIPMENT PURCHASES AND UPGRADES.

I am unable to fathom how they imagine enough people will like the new system to compensate for the lack of longtime customers who will (like me) LEAVE when Matchmaking becomes the involuntary.standard. Talented programmers who can't fix bugs, and successful managers who can't see the long-term effects of changes, will have killed the game through sheer ineptitude.

It is sad such a highly biased article makes it into the EN newspaper. Pure propaganda really.

Nice example of this is how you've chosen "opinions" of EN players: out of 5 players asked, 1 was openly negative. That's surely very representative, hardly anybody dislikes matchmaking in the community . You must have been desperate finding positive opinions, when a player like @RIDDLER_8, one of the biggest EN forum trolls, gets to state his opinion..

All in all, this shows how much is going wrong in TO..

But, I can really say that you must have received a hefty sum to come up with a article like this. Let's call a spade a spade. Just say "yo! alright folks from now on we gonna take ur money and time more than we usually do and we don't care how y'all see it, but MMS is hitting soon! Yo! players gonna pay for everything and in the near future, you gotta pay to login and don't be surprised if a payment page pops up to visit our site" Why every media works this way? They support only the system. But, I can assure you that implementing this system will be the downfall for Tanki.

hahahaha.

So FUNNY, You like all those 0.1% positive feedback but you don't care about the rest of 99.9% people.

WE DON'T LIKE...

listen! why don't you make a voting system on it, where every tanker can vote whether he/she like the system or dislike ?

but don't do it, you will change the results which you always do...

Please don't violate the games rules (namely use swear / curse words, use profane language, flame, etc.). Posts breaking the rules will be hidden. If your post is it, it's probably because it violated a rule. Feedback isn't respected when given in such a manner that violates rules.

On another note, know that I personally do care about your guys' opinions (you can say I don't but I simply do). I'm reading every comment here and taking each one into consideration. I don't have any contact with the developers, so I can't make any or suggest any changes. To those who're saying that the newspaper team has presented false data in this review (i.e. that we manipulated data to make it appear that players like it when they don't), I suggest re-reading the review. We've stated the flaws players brought up quite clearly and didn't tamper with any data or work our way around the truth.

Many people disliked the system, it's a fact. The developers are working on improving the system to make everyone happy. Don't say that isn't possible before seeing their offer. They could potentially offer a very great and significant change, one that you may like very much. You never know.

Again, please don't violate the rules. You might think it'll get your point across quicker, but it'll just do less.

See, here's my view. You have a great idea, a voting system would be a great idea for a potential system like this, and although it shouldn't be entirely dependant on the results of the vote, it should have a significant impact on the concluding decision. However, I cannot agree with the way you present your idea. You could've easily said the same idea in a respectful way, and trust me, the administration would have appreciated it a lot more.

on the maps

- why make 10 vs 10 and change the maps ?? There is no reason at all a map cant be a 4 vs 4 or a 12 vs 12 like in the original maps .

- on people always choosing the same maps : why not rotate the steady maps , since they cant be created anyway ( only pro ) missions always have to be done in maps given .  Rotate every 2 hours for example or every day or whatever so that those steady maps cannot be chosen all the time . People need to know what map they can choose , i dont like ( and i am certainly not alone ) to be put in a map , i want to choose , it is my tank  , im playing , so i choose the map . I see nearly no rotation of the mission maps a the moment ( plenty of maps in the pro i've never played because they dont show ) .

ps , you guys might have seen somebody who likes it . I have not .All the games i played i heard ingame only complaining , and within the clan i also heard no positive voice . I heard only slightly negative to very negative , no positive .

The review keeps silent about the awful MMS in Tanki-X, where they intend to give tankers penalties when they leave a battle, etc.

The review keeps silent about the hundreds of forum pages in EN and RU community that were well-founded negative on MMS.

Claudiu? Well, he makes promo youtube for Tanki and gets turrets like striker for free. In my opinion, he can not be fully considered to be objective and neutral.

Spoillterpoint? My dear old Dutch player, where have you gone? I have not seen you playing in ages....

It seems like automatic player fill would harm me.  Why?  Because about 1 out of every 3 games my screen freezes, so just save the URL, close Tanki, and log back into the exact game URL.  After entering my password, I always enter the same game I was forced out of, with all previous data intact except I lose any previous mines laid.  This minimizes the impact of my abrupt 30 second departure.  With the new system, I am permanently out.

why not have a server dedicated to normal syle of play where missions cant be completed on if the realy problem was people finding a way around the system.... i Personally would just like a server called English so i can actually use the chat function which has now become obsolete due to the merging of servers

smh the system is a joke. Won't you ever listen to the community? When it was tested on eu servers 90% of people were constantly complaining in chat.It makes NO SENSE.Why shouldn't people be allowed to choose where, what, and how long to play? What's the point of this crap

Agree for once they could listen to the community and stop pointing out the VERY FEW that actually ''like'' the update. Tanki will sooner or later be dead if they continue implementing updates as bad as the MMS.

What's the point they don't listen to criticism or warnings this will destroy what was a perfectly good game.....good luck TO you are going to need it WOT beckons!

After reading negative comment after negative comment I can only suggest that TO will only learn by their mistakes when we have all left and I encourage all to do so ....

If Tanki goes ahead with the MM update, I'll head on over to WarThunder & World of Tanks!
Thanks for the fun...while it lasted before becoming garbage!!! I personally don't like being
told when, where and who I'm playing. I live in the US...Home of the FREE!!!
U

It's nice that Tanki has the ability to post an equal amount of positive and negative reviews!
They're not showing the true reaction though...it's a lot more negative than positive! Why don't
they want to show the true results? It would make them look too foolish!!!

I think my biggest issue was this.  As I sit looking for something to play, or a friend to invite into a Battle Group, when I see their name as active at that moment, it didn't tell me if they were in a Battle in advance.  If I was inviting them to MY Battle Group, or even to invite them into a Custom-made My Choice map, I'd see their name, the server, but nothing else.  Then I'd keep getting a message that they were already in a battle - well gosh darn it - why couldn't that have been in the FRIENDS box in the first place?!?
That's about it for my suggestion.  If someone is in a MM-Battle, then show it.

Doesn't need to identify the map or server - just that I cannot contact them at that moment, but then I'd also know when they are free.

Sure, driving around blowing stuff up is fun, but it is the people and friends we have that is more fun for me.  And especially when I know how they play, I can trust that they got my back, makes for better games (IE winning lol).

[..] Many people disliked the system, it's a fact.

Your article quotes 5 player opinions on the system, out of which a single one is negative (20%). As you know perfectly well, that's not representative of public opinion in the EN community. Presenting it in this way is indeed highly manipulative, aimed at fooling readers into thinking the matchmaking test was fairly well received.
