Community Challenges/Missions

Hex

Recommended Posts

There should be Community Challenges at least two times in a year which need to be completed in a certain number of days and upon completion, give all of the players who participated a special something. Note: Players need to get at least 1 000 kills to be able to receive rewards.

That something could be:

  • New paints, even animated ones!
  • Skins
  • Micro-upgrade steps
  • A title you could use next to your name
  • Free clan license, crystals, premium, gold boxes etc.

The challenges could be something like:

  • Get 500M kills - Time: 30d
  • Capture 1M flags - Time: 30d
  • Capture 10M points - Time: 30d
  • Score the total of 1B experience points - Time: 30d
  • Kill 1M people with Firebird: Time: 30d

and etc.

What do you think?

Idea is interesting. It's pretty much exactly what the TX beta quest was like (with the reward being a beta tester paint, rail shot effect and hornet skin). The only issue is how does one earn the reward? You say that every participant gets it, so if the task is to get 500 million kills, then a player who got 100 000 kills and a player who got just 1 kill will both get the same reward because anyone who got at least one kill technically "participated".

I think it's much more logical to only have those weekend events where you have to get a certain number of individual kills to get a reward (such as 10 golds and a module).

No, you're wrong. If everyone sits backs, relaxes and thinks that he/she will do only one kill to technically "participate", the goal will simply not be reached. It's just like many other games, the whole community gets the same paint/camo/reward even if one player did a thousand kills and other did ten thousand kills.

Plus, it's only advised to launch this thing once or twice a year, with a good looking paint everytime so people do fight for it.

I don't like kill challenges or flag challenges, it makes people drug for kills, do Fire-Wasp, they block you or flip you for flags...

Just enjoy normal battles people, that way you're not hours and hours glued to your seat and keyboard. Yes, you may be getting good rewards, but you're also ranking up faster.

Not everyone will sit back, but some players will only play to complete their missions and will not care about the challenge.

Your idea is a nice idea, but their should be some steps.

Let's take the kills for example :

- If you made less than 2000 kills during the 30 days, you get 1 Gold.

- If you made between 2000 and 5000 kills, you get 3 Golds, 1 day Premium and some free MU steps.

- If you made between 5000 and 8000 kills, you get 6 Golds, 2 days premium and free MU steps

[....]

And finally

- If you made like 50 000 kills, you get 25 Golds, the special paint, 10 days of premium.

You see what I mean? My example is totally random, but it shows that players that contributed the more should obtain a bigger reward.

^ No, I'm suggesting it the way exactly the way the Tanki X Beta Quest and other games quests' worked. You need at least 1 000 kills to be able to receive rewards. Anyone who does 1 000 kills is eligible for rewards. The paint can be something ugly like Birdwatcher to amazing like Amber.

However, Call of Duty does it differently. Recently in Black Ops III, there was an animated paint as a reward in such a event. You needed to get 500 million headshot kills, not body shots. If that goal was achieved, every single player would receive the reward, like, the whole community.

  • A title you could use next to your name

I am in favour of this suggestion. This title could probably go under the nickname, and above the HP bar. The Overdrive logo would instead be positioned beside the HP bar, possibly?

This is sorta similar to the Clash Royale "Clan Chest" concept. It isn't really fair, as such but in all fairness, no one is forcing anyone to make 100k kills ...

In that case, you can be pretty sure that the paint would not be awesome. Can you imagine a whole battle with all players wearing Amber or an animated paint? ^^

That's the point. You fight hard > you enjoy the rewards. Plus, if everyone has the item, it has absolutely no worth, its just an addition.

Yes, but my point is that some players will contribute way more than other, and at the end they will all have the same reward.

So, what if all players only do the minimum? At the end, the goal is not reached and nobody wins anything :D

Yeah, no reward then. Either fight hard and enjoy the reward or, you get my point.

It does not sound fair for the players who will do a bigger part of the taks.

Anyways, I don't see Tanki developpers giving a paint to a massive number of players. Or it will be a garbage paint that nobody likes.

Hmmm.... completed?

I feel like the War event (which will apparently happen again) is a very close implementation of this idea. In fact, it's even better since instead of having boring, monotonous tasks like "destroy a million tanks", there's additional engagement required in the form of strategy.

Somewhat I guess, the only thing different is of course the strategic element plus the fact that only the winning faction gets the paint.

From March onwards, Challenges will be thematic, and the whole Tanki community will be automatically divided into teams. Each team will have a goal to strive towards, similar to what is being suggested here.

What do you think?

Why is it kills that needs to be qualifier?

33 kills / day... on average.

For 30 days.

Isidas that often use the revised healing ALT are gonna love this...

This is a very old idea as you can tell - and seeing as some of the new stuff in the game helps with kills and completing other objectives, some values may need to be changed. But, the idea as a whole remains intact. So instead of kills, now, I would place my bets on stars or objective-based qualifier, like flags and goals.

Millions, I think. It would take months even for the whole playerbase to get 500 000 000 kills. The number is huge.

Specific numbers can always be changed for ideas like this. Don't worry about them and just focus on the concept itself.
