Please hide the protection modules to prevent cheating!

Hi,

 

So other day I was playing Arena CP. I was twins titan and I had my opponent just joined watched my turret and saw my protect module.

 

He left the battle and rejoined it with full protection and a turret for which I don't have any protection followed by his friends.  I changed my turret and protection but they would again change their turret and protection such that I am at loss. I have to wait to change again and this is unfair and by that time he will be on the lead and many other users would be joining his team coz he's winning. So this ends the whole point of the battle.

 

This revealing of protection modules is causing problems and creating unfair advantages to people who just join. 

Also the wait time to change equipment is quite high,  I request you to lessen that to 2 mins.

 

Hiding the protection module is highly appreciated and that's how tanki was sometime back. This new system is leading people to cheat.

..as this is no cheating but a tactical decision.

Still you have a point, that the current system does not work well.

Your proposal to hide the protection does no good to the game, as tankers learn how many shots / seconds they have to invest on a target in order to take it out.. and this tactical information would be lost.

 

So the hiding could be done if the protections were about 20% max, but those 50% modules double the take-down-time.. so this would just make the players mad (why does he not die -.-   must be a hacker!!).

 

2 minutes were in the game for a while, but the big downside was, that it favoured buyers a lot over free players.

 

Maybe you can find a different sollution to this issue.

If it is a team game, try to take a turret against which he can't take protection. And if he does, then he will have to lose protection from all the other turrets in your team.

 

Basically make it such that he can't accommodate everything in 1 module.

How about if you join game you cannot change anything next 5 mins. If you change you have to wait another 5 mins. If you leave battle you still have that timer counting down not dissapearing and giving you ability to change. Maybe will make tankers be more patient.

In lower ranks this probably works, in the higher ranks... much harder to achieve, most seem to have settled into fewer turrets in use and have protections. But its a nice idea... protection becomes the best fit, rather than protect from everything. :)  I usually end up having to make one of 2 choices at the moment, protect from the most turrets I can, or protect from the one doing the most damage and hope I can cope with the others.

It actually sounds good, you still can see the damage done to the enemy if you hit it (when the option [show damage] is enabled). As Shafts and other long-range players can't see the protection of the far enemy, neither would enemies see theirs.

Finally someone who has common sense and gets it just like me. It is called tactical play and you do not know that he changed his modules just because of your weapon as it may be because of someone else so that is an assumption. [ Towards the person you quoted from Wasp ]

Good idea.

 

The system should remember you were in that battle, then that you made equipment changes outside the battle, that when you return you still carry the cooldown of those changes.

 


 

Another thing that could help is that instead of 5 minutes cooldown, it is only 4 minutes, because even if a person who likes to do these tricks brings his or her friends, the wait to make changes for the players that are not doing the trick is less.

 

And a system of Quad Modules with Single 40% protections would also help, because 40% is less effective than 50%, as far as I know.

In the past you could know their protection or "CHEAT like you said" from their paints.  <_<

Yes please atleast try to implement this feature in Tanki to make it a fair battle.

Not a solution. I'll just check their profile before the battle to see their current equipment and change to the best module I have for the situation and then I'll join the battle. Then they'll change to counter me again and I will change again so I still have an advantage.
