[CP Mode] More experience for killing someone around a Point

So we should use a lot of drugs to capture a flag and get 0 points in return? Sure, that will encourage players to capture more flags... No Exp for capturing a flag = no benefits for the next rank up.

 

If everyone go for the flag and don't think about defending the base, then they are mindless and deserve to lose...

 

Giving more points in CP would encourage players to get to the point to win more exp for a future rank up, and so, less TDM players in CP.

so at polygon CP all i have to do is use magnum or striker... or maybe firebird with m2 alteration and viola!!

and it happens quite often when 90% of my team doesn't even bother to cap points, they just camp to kill. now who would wanna go cap points of they had a higher bounty over their heads if they were to die trying to capture a point.

Well, that's exactly how it is in CTF tho xD you get more points from killing the flag guy rather than killing an enemy so..

yes... but only 1 guy of the entire enemy team can be holding your flag... and even if you kill the entire enemy team at once you'd only get the bonus from killing that 1 guy with your flag. at polygon quite often nearly the entire enemy team is at that 1 point and you'd get the bonuses from each of them. my god...

It's a matter of perspective :) Yes, 1 guy, but the whole enemy team should be targeting him. I have never heard anyone who didn't want to take any flags just because the opponent would get more XP if they killed him.. and it's same here.

 

This could be implemented, and I'd still play the same way. Yes, you'll be targeted even more, but isn't that what an enemy should do, and isn't that the purpose of this mode..? Stop the other team from capturing?

Bonuses? If you go alone versus an entire team, as you said, you will maybe kill one of them only. It's always team vs team on the Polygon point, so bonus will be split (my god...). And btw if it's 12 Exp for killing one guy at the CP, it's not a big deal.

i have magnum on my spanish account and i get 6-7 kills in 1 shot fairly often... i have gotten nearly 1200 exp per match a couple times already, imagine we do your idea.

This is why I added something else in page 1 :

 

You can add another feature to prevent campers for taking advantage of it. In order to get 12 or 13 exp, the enemy and you need to have the CP laser for example. That way, campers will not get extra exp.

I forgot to say just now, i was able to get such scores thanks to overdrive. i get it to 100% quickly and i share it with my team mates who use it to charge theirs more quickly and tgeb share it with me....... you know how it works. if we were to furtger increase exp gain my overdrive woyld charge a lot more quickly... and chain effect on team mates and then back to me...

There is more turnover of point than flags so the possible added point xp/crystal would no be small and even not visible by players.

There is possibility that it is actually already in place but you don't noticed it because it is small. I want to do some experiment but I figured out that it would be useless.

I did it with the overdrive charge and it is the same gain as killing a normal tank (or not noticeable).

Yes, but then it will be more beneficial to Fire-Wasps than the rest. Thunders, Rails, Smokies and similar will always be at the bottom of charts in CP.

Well, an idea can't be perfect for all turrets. Besides, you have to agree that a Rail in Polygon CP is not a big help. As for Smokies, they can easily go for the CP. I already played Poly CP Pro with Titan Smoky and I had no problem killing enemies on point.

 

Besides, Thunder Rail Smoky will get their exp in maps like Osa CP, Industrial Zone CP, Deathtrack CP and all the big maps with many points.

 

But I agree that this will be a little bit more complicated for them. Perhaps a kill far away from the CP would give 11exp and one near the CP 12 exp :unsure:

just a summary of why I'm against this: 
1) more rewards for power levelers, especially during 5x gold box like this summer or even more during april fools because of the 10000 and 50000 crystals boxes, premium boxes and boxes that cause 2 more boxes to fall instantly. 
2) more exp means quicker overdrive charging, which leads to chain effects on the entire team. 
3) discouraging people to go cap points.

Why I should not be understanding? You have presented what seems to be the major flaw of this idea. I will not act like a dumb and insult you because you expressed that. It's just true. This suggestions would either benefit to campers or benefit to close turrets. Let's see if we can find a compromise.

 

I am not here to see my idea implemented at all cost. This topic is open to suggestions. And if it's finally rejected, well that's fine, it was just an idea.

1- Yeah well if you think like that, you will rarely get new updates. With almost every game updates, players find a way to use it for power-leveling. It's a good thing that soon, private battles will not give Exp and crystals. So it will be harder to power level without a mod seeing it.

 

2- I think that the overdrive mechanism can be reworked a little, to make it reach 100% a little bit slower.

 

3- I don't see how it would discourage players to cap to be honest. Are people discouraged to take the enemy flag?
