What is your wisdom?

a word of wisdom from me as an older player "61 years this july "

Treat everyday as if it's your last

Because one day it will be

If everyone will do what you've said, there will be no evil left in this world. But unfortunately, there are only a few who believes in this and follows it...

My Dad used to tell us Kids: "Do it right the first time and you won't have to do it a second."

My Dad was a perfectionist and tried to drive us in that direction. He believed in quality, not quantity. Good work ethics, but his Bosses didn't think so. They wanted quantity, not quality. He got fired from one job because his perfectionism got in the way and quit another because he felt he was cheating the customers by performing substandard work. To do the jobs right, would take extra time the company didn't want to spend. He became self-employed.

I have a sign over my desk that says, "Go over, under, around or through but never give up."

I overheard someone say, "The third time's the charm. If you still fail, try one more time. This time give it your all, your last ditch effort. If you still fail, then it's time to move on."

"Kärlek är som den som faller på både nässlor och liljor."

Edit: (Translation): Love is like the one that falls on both nettles and lilies.

Would be nice if you would add the translation as well, you know google isn't that advanced to be translating wisdom words/sentences such as these when it is struggling with normal sentences.

"Kärlek är som den som faller på både nässlor och liljor."

The translator says, "Love is like the one that falls on both nettles and Lilies."

What it means to me is: "Love is like falling on both nettles and lilies."

Both of your sentences were actually true

My Mom had a similar saying for love: "Love is like a rose bush; smells so sweet, but full of thorns."

Wonderful sentence indeed, find one for me as well. A good sentence like that.

Here's one my Great-Grandmother used to say: "Nie moj cyrk, Nie moj malpy"

Translation: Not my circus, Not my monkey

Meaning: Not my problem.

My Great-Grandmother immigrated from Poland with her German husband. Quite a story. Anyway, she was full of Polish sayings and used them regularly. When they came to the U.S. both of them had to learn English. Since both of them spoke fluent Polish and German, the language in their household was a combination of all 3 languages.
