How to play in Sandbox like a pro!

FACT: Did you know that Sandbox was created by a “renowned” architect known by the name of Victor Sandbox? In the 90s, the International Tanker Federation requested several architects to design maps for training their tankers.  One of the architects was the aforementioned Victor Sandbox.

When the Federation Officials came to his office, it was said that that they were told to wait for 30 long minutes to have an appointment with Mr. Sandbox. After a few minutes, they heard a loud flush and a few minutes after that they were told they could meet him.

On hearing the proposal of the Federation, the architect was pumped up to the point that he immediately began working on his new project as soon as the officials left. He was told to create the map within a month.

Days went by and when the deadline day had finally arrived. The Federation officials visited the site and were surprised to find a box shaped land with a raised square box and few houses surrounding the box shaped land in raised surfaces. That is the ingenious story behind the creation of the Sandbox map.

Do you prefer to stay at the center and destroy tanks that are running at you? If so, you should equip a heavy yet movable hull like Titan and a turret like Thunder or Twins or Smoky.  Or if you’d like to be able to move around a bit more effortlessly, you can use Viking instead.

Always stay at the center because there are two walls and bushes that you can use for cover and it is risky staying at the grass area as you won’t be able to know if someone attacks you from behind.

When playing for the blue team the best position is the area marked with blue colour near the house. And when playing for the red team, best position is the area marked with green. The red square boxes are attacking positions that you can use after making sure that there is no enemy to damage you.

The orange bordered box can be a great pain for your enemies when utilised properly. For maximum efficiency, I suggest equipping a turret with no visible firing like Smoky or Thunder and a heavy hull like Mammoth or Titan and a Green paint or any paint that blends in perfectly with the bushes.

For both attacking and defending, I’d recommend a medium hull like Hornet or Hunter equipped with Hammer or Ricochet. The marked routes are useful for both attacking and defending.

Sandbox CP

There is only one point here which is at the center of the map and the ideal equipment for capturing and guarding a point, in my opinion, would be Titan or Mammoth equipped with Thunder or Hammer and Freeze or Firebird.

That’s it for now. See you in the battlefield!

Could you please elaborate more about that?

Though depending on the template and the guide(s) itself/themself, I think you should see other guides on maps. The example can be my entry, which won 2nd place in the recent Wikimania contest. A good guide should cover many more details, tactics, images and text, to describe the scenario as better as possible. :)

Wowy..No XP BP mentioned huh?

You could have discussed about XP/BP too because many many people play in Sandbox XP/BP. Btw.. Nice article. Good luck!

Cut him a little slack, he's only a WO3. He doesn't even have access to M2 Rail/Hornet, and the Tornado kit unlocks at WO5/3rdLnt iirc.

Besides, an XP/BP and even AP guide would be better reading when written by a high ranked player, like Brigadier and higher.
