Announcement Voice of the Community - English Survey Results

Dear readers,

 

As you may have noticed few months back, we conducted a survey and postponed the release of the Issue 67 to analyze the results and implement couple of changes to the way Newspaper works. So, without further ado, here's the list of changes and plans you can expect being implemented in the next couple of months.

 

NEWSPAPER ISSUES

 

The first big thing that will most likely change in the future is publishing schedule. As of now, we publish one big issue monthly, but as the survey results have proven, most of you would rather see two smaller issues per month. For now, we need to get more regular writers into the team and rework this system that fell into pieces few years back.

 

The second thing that is related to issues is their structure. We will try to provide more articles from genres you requested the most - guides, reviews and humor. However, this does not mean we will totally eliminate other genres. You will still be able to read stories, poems, comics or interviews every so often.

 

NEWSPAPER SPECIALS

 

Specials will not change very much. We are refining what content warrants a special article to be written about it. Small patch notes that do not have a big impact will not be covered. We will also try to publish articles with more imagery and more detail.

 

We will also be creating several different kinds of special contests in addition to those that are lottery based. All specials contests will still relate to using a certain paint that is available during an in-game event.

 

AMATEUR WRITING SECTION

 

If you are familiar with this section, you must have spotted we implemented few changes. Firstly the section was slightly reworked and problems like topic bumping were sorted by adding an additional archive section for older articles.

 

We also opened the AWS writing projects to public, so in case you would like to improve your writing and win some crystals along the way, follow the monthly projects posted in the Amateur writing section.

 

We have one more idea that will hopefully motivate you to write even more, but we will keep it a surprise for later.

 

NEWSPAPER CONTESTS

 

Naturally, most of you requested...*drum roll*.. bigger number of contests and rewards. Unfortunately, these requests can't be realized. TO Newspaper already distributes enormous amount of crystals and we hold more than enough contests. However, even in this department you can expect some changes.

 

We will start awarding more players (e.g. instead of the usual 1st,2nd,3rd place we'll amend the prizes and have 1st to 5th place + consolation prizes to award even more really good entries). On top of that, we will focus more on contests that do not require a specific skill or talent like challenges, quizzes, or humor contests and thus can be enjoyed by more tankers. Of course, skill-based contests will not be totally terminated from the Newspaper, however, they will appear more sporadically.

 

 

Along these, we might implement other minor fixes and changes that sprang up from the survey results, but they won't  make such noticeable difference.

With the number of people this paper reaches, contest entries can't be expected to be good too often.
