Declined [In battle] Separate main chat and team chat

This idea is for CP, CTF and TDM.

 

Sometimes, you use team chat to make a strategy or tell to your teammates what is happening (flag on the left, enemy coming on tunnel...).

 

But, it happens that a player spams the main chat with long messages and you have to type your message again if you want your teammates to see it. I know that you can block players with the /block command. But not everyone knows this. And by the time you ask them to block the spammers, enemy maybe captured one flag.

 

So the idea is very simple :

 

When you use the team chat, you can onle see the team messages. And when you switch to the main chat, you only see the message posted by both teams using the main chat.

You're describing a solution to a problem that needs to be fixed by other means. As is the case with most issues, instead of adding a new feature (like separated chats) to solve a problem (flooders), the problem needs to be prevented instead, e.g. by adding an anti-spam feature in battle chats. That way flood won't happen in the first place and the additional inconvenience of having two separate chats won't be necessary.

 

To be honest, I really doubt that such spammers are big issue since they're not that common. I personally haven't seen one for months, despite playing fairly often.

Well, doesn't seem really important to be to be honest. The colors are quite visible and not many people pay attention to the chat while playing either. Also, it can confuse newbies if they see certain messages appearing and disappearing.
