Community Update: Introduction from Nives

Welcome to the English Community Nives/ Sergei/Mr.Balabanov (if you don't mind me call you one of those) I'm honored to have you us as our CM, I hope your transition is smooth (why would it not be, you have Cedric hahaha :D) and peachy. We cannot wait to get to know you more. With that, I wish you the best of luck as our new CM and all the best. I will always be lurking if you need me ;)

 

For Cedric (hopefully you read this before you leave :D): Cedric from the first day that you have joined the community as our CM you did an impeccable job, it's unbelievable what you have done for this community, you have brought our community closer together as 1 big family and always have had the best intrests for the community and tanki in general. I wanna thank you for bringing all of us, including the helper team closer together as 1 big family and all you've done for this community, and of course for being a really cool CM, I'll miss you popping in the livestreams and especially MoP where you commentated with us (by the way you're a pro commentator, maybe become a commentator and not leave us hehe :D) Besides Tanki, I want to wish you and your family all the best and I want to wish you the best of luck on your future jobs, thank you for everything you have done for us and good luck, and I hope to see you on the battlefield ;) (Sorry GV I had to steal it, it was a perfect way to end it :D)

Creating a V-log requires a professional studio and a team of experienced editors. A CM can't just do a V-log on his own, so if Cedric were to do his own V-logs, it would be on a level of standing in a room in his house and talking to the camera, which is unprofessional and boring. That's why they use the same V-log video with an English voice-over.

 

This might improve now that our CM is once again working in the office (like Semyon Kirov), but I think the current format is perfectly fine.

There are also two important issues worth taking note of:

1. We intentionally produce V-LOGs with content that is of interest to ALL the communities, which is why the EN and RU V-LOG are often the same
2. The EN V-LOG isn't just for the International Community. It is also watched by the DE, PL, BR and ES Communities. If we had to make it EN specific, it would not be of any interest to the other communities, and that would not be fair. And before anyone comes up with the idea of creating unique V-LOGs for every community, I'll tell you that producing a V-LOG is incredibly time-consuming and also expensive. I won't go into the details, but it costs quite a bit of money. And I'm not just talking about equipment. We have people working almost full time on creating the TO V-LOG, TX Dev's Diary, and other multimedia projects. There's no way the smaller communities could justify spending that kind of budget on a project like that when considering their size. Sad but true.

Of course he won't as getting spectator requires much effort into editing videos, posting more often and creative ideas for videos and so on. Good PC and good graphics wouldn't really matter... but the videos quality would, in the meanwhile spectator applications are closed it will remain closed until the CM decides to open it once again or the head spectator.

It's a badge which previous community managers get after leaving their position. And this badge shows that previous community managers were trustworthy and veterans.
