Fix external links posted in the Chat

Recommended Posts

Prior to the release of the client, it used to be extremely easy to follow an external link to get to a site.

However, some new safety precautions that were implemented to warn people against Phishing, are getting extremely pesky.

Now, when we post a picture in the Chat, we get this pop-up:

I have no issues with this pop-up. In my opinion, it was a good initiative from Tanki but at least let us proceed if we want. There should be an option to also say "Proceed to site" or something similar. This defeats the entire point of a hyperlink - designed to automatically redirect you to a link. Instead, the hyperlink leads prohibits you from entering a link.

Now, yes, I do know that if you right click the link and press "Open Link," it works. However, even that workaround has its flaws. Once it opens in your default browser (Safari for me), it adds a little "event:" before the URL, rendering the hyperlink absolutely useless, as it makes the URL inaccessible:

Surely this can be removed? Now, I'm not sure whether or not this is an issue exclusively seen in Safari or not. Regardless, I'd like both the suggestions to be considered because they are practical and make sense.

Having a small option that says ''proceed at your own risk'' would be nice too.

It basically already does tbh. Maybe the last line could be "proceed at your own risk" and the button to go to the link could be "proceed."

Right click on the link, click "open in new window" to bypass the whole pop up. Idk if it works on the client though.

Doesn’t. Only option is “Open URL” and it goes through the normal procedure.

For me I can select "Open URL" and it directs me to the link just fine. However, it does not open a new tab. There needs to be an "open link in new tab" option.
