Declined Giveaway for Free Micro Upgrades Steps

Since micro upgrades are far more expensive than actually buying a new turret, hull or module, there must be a giveaway that can be available from time to time by developers.

 

Here on this post, I will try my best to come up with a good idea which will not affect the economy of Tanki Online, but will help players earn free micro upgrade steps when completing a certain amount of tier kills for a random giveaway.

 

This giveaway will last for a full 48 hours (2 days) long.

 

The giveaway will not give supplies, nor gold boxes to players, but only free micro upgrade steps.

 

1. Tier 1 - 200 kills = Reward: 1 free micro upgrade step

 

2. Tier 2 - 800 kills = Reward: 4 free micro upgrade steps

 

3. Tier 3 - 2000+ kills = Reward: 10 free micro upgrade steps

 

For players that manage to destroy 800+ kills during the 48 hour period will enter the chance to earn (1 dream tank) available at the players rank.

 

Players must be ranked at least Warrant Officer 1 to be eligible for the giveaway.

 

Please do not decline my suggestion because it is a good suggestion for free micro upgrade rewards, but if I am wrong, please correct me.

I would recommend you to buy them during a sale, not to mention that they're already 50% off from what they used to be just a little while ago. Also, now there are only 10 steps, and 20 steps on M3 items. Doing 2 steps is 10-20% of the way, that's not nothing. Yes, micro-upgrades are expensive, but it's so much cheaper to get M4 now than before the update that changed all that. 

 

Micro-upgrades were expensive, speed-ups took forever then too. Now the overall price of micro-upgrades (step + speed up cost) is still the same, but the good part is that you don't NEED the speed-ups to micro upgrade your equipment. It's twice as cheap now to micro-upgrade your equipment, as long as you don't use speed-ups. 
 

About 20 steps costing the same as 50 steps, yes (including speed-ups), BUT to get the same amount of progress before, you had to MU 2,5 steps and pay for 2 speed-ups, while now you have to pay for 1 step and pay for no speed up. This, together with the step cost being halved, makes micro-upgrading cheaper, if you have some patience and know how to get the most out of it.

 

The total step cost of an m4 turret is currently 455900, before it was 911800 (excluding speed ups).

That is amazing that micro upgrades are now 50% off.

 

My suggestion was to have a few free micro upgrade steps to be given only in giveaways where players can freely use their free micro upgrade on any turret, hull or module. Free micro upgrades can serve as a backup when players don't have enough crystals to spend during a sale day on micro upgrades and wishes to micro upgrade their equipment with 1 more step.

That makes no sense. If it's a free micro-upgrade, then what difference does it make whether you spend it during a normal day or a sale? It's free either way.

You should just Micro-upgrade during sales and completely ignore Speed-ups. And also, think about what players with M1/M2 equipment could do with this giveaway.

 

Basically they can get a free M2/M3 if they make the 2000 kills (since M1s and M2s have 10 micro-upgrade steps).

Guys think about it like this. Giving away free MU steps instead of crystals is like giving a gift card to someone instead of cash. Would u prefer 50 bucks on ur birthday or would you prefer a 50 dollar gift card to some store you never go to? Some people just don't micro upgrade. But crystals and supplies can be used by all.

No they are not. You can buy 10 MU steps on an m2. You will spend exactly as much as if you bought the m3 version. Exactly the same.

 

Now that being said of course cheaper is better. Get a sale price if you can.  But just MU steps 1 through 5 or 6 at regular cost and use sales to do the last, expensive steps.  

 

Your concept of the math is wrong. You are trying to "fix" a "problem" that "does not exist".

Not necessarily. Most non-druggers just don't have supplies. If someone has infinite supplies, you bet they'll drug. Also, by drugging, I mean throwing in the occasional double damage to finish off an enemy, or to use double armor when being a flag holder. I don't mean the people who are incapable of playing without all three drugs on at the same time. You are assuming that "drug" means to shamelessly burn supplies for no reason, and yes, most people don't do that. However, I dare you to find someone warrant one or higher that hasn't used at least 10 supplies each.

and its not because i dont have supplies i have 1500 repair kit and speed boost double damage and double armour i have 5500-5700. For every single giveaway i have reached at least the tier that gives you 5 gold boxes. as you know during these giveaways you can only play in regular drug battles and eveyone drugs all the way during those times.

 

there have been a couple times where clan mates offer to but me supplies kit during sales but i told them i didnt use drugs. Im from a russian clan with around 50 people i could have unlimited drugs if i just dont turn theor offers down.

Although you don't seem to use many supplies for someone ur rank, by the looks of ur profile, u have used a bit, only 9 speeds though, but again. Not all of us are Mammoth shafts that one shot pretty much everything and never move. If you ever go in an attacking position u need every advantage u can get. Ur mine count, 4000 however, does make a lot of sense. You probably cover urself with mines to prevent ur need to use any supplies.  :mellow:

Plus that cuts down months of speed-up time.
