On Sunday, a shooting took place, where a man was killed in his driveway. The killer...happened to be a friend of mine. I've so many conflicting thoughts. I have been friends with this person for about four years and he was a really cool dude to hang out with. Now it appears he's been sentenced to life without parole over drugs.

The man hustled him, there was a fight and he shot him. I feel so bad for anyone connected. But...I can't help but feel bad mostly for my friend. He wasn't into all that when I first met him and it sucks he's only 19, about to spend the rest of his life behind bars because of the path he chose.

I won't excuse the fact he shot a person. Both of them are at fault for allowing this kind of thing into their lives. It sucks to know my friend killed a man. It sucks to know this man's family will have to make-do without him. It's a lot to think about when I can't even think straight...

If you know others who also knows your friend, seek them out and talk about it. They are probably hurting and as confused as you are. Talking about it helps to ease the pain instead of keeping it bottled up inside.

Sounds rough. You should probably look for proffesional help, I don't think this forum with 12 year olds will help much.

Professional help (counseling, therapy) is a good idea, providing OP or family members can afford it. Average rate per session is $75.00 to $150.00. In very large cities the cost is upwards of $200.00 per session.

I'm not 12 years old. I'm well into my adulthood.

Well here in the Netherlands it's not something only the rich and famous can afford.

Fam, why pay so much money for some therapist who will just say ''talk about it with your friends and family.'' And get 75k to 150k for basicly doing nothing. Going to therapy is a waste of time, they'll just take your money and say some dumb stuff. Just talk with your friends and family but hey, it's your choice.

I didn't say $75,000.00 to 150,000.00. It's 75 to 150 USD ($75.00 to $150.00). But still expensive. Problem with Therapists, is that they insist you keep coming back for a series of visits. One just doesn't seem enough to them.

A question that may come up and you will have to think about:

Do you still want this person as a friend? From what you say, this incident was drug related. Is that something you really want to be involved in?
