Tanki Thinking Challenge

Recommended Posts

I knew 0 of the answers by heart I think, and managed to do it under 25 minutes (just :P ). It wasn’t a case of knowing the answers, it was more about being able to find them, and knowing HOW to find them easily.

I knew a few, knew where to find most of the rest, then got knocked flying by a couple... (The banner and Lhamster took about 5-10 mins each)

Also, I misread Q2...

I think you should take a closer look at the question.  It’s not a trick question. It’s also not wrong.

Thanks but I all ready sent it in, so I knew I lost .. its ok this is only the second contest . I'm rusty , in time will win some ..

We've already gone through this; the time will not change, at least nowhere in the foreseeable future. On the other hand, we are looking at shifting the publication day. You can still compete for the lucky Gold Box Winner and the Random x participants.

Since this is not going the only contest or quiz ever, why not rotate it between say 8 am and 8 pm, so it can be more fair? What is the benefit of not doing that?

DONE.

Marc , it was too Easy! :D

Comic-sans....why do you vandalize the page with that cancer font?

Marc, I think this should have been classified as an Easy challenge.  :)

This is probably wishful thinking but I will laugh so hard if you guys don't get the reward

But those contests require a lot of effort, and also are often carried over to the real life of tankers, unlike playing.

The thing is that there is no reason, beneficial to Tanki, for many of those contests. What good is for Tanki that there are many players on the forum and not in the game?

Fun and skill based playing contests will still be fun and still prove that you have skills, and will still attract players even if they are not for the whole playing community and have minimal rewards.

I have another Warrant Officer account that I'm playing and I can tell that there are fewer and fewer players in the lower ranks; it's hard to find battles. Tanki needs new players more than it needs forum users or contests that only cater to certain groups.

First player I heard saying we should not be getting crystal rewards for contests like these... :P But then again, paints are in-game too... forum stickers don't exist as of now, and if you mean like avatars, tbh I prefer we keep them for official helpers, as it will just confuse new guys... And gifts, well, I personally wouldn't find any motivation to join a contest and do all that hard work for a 'gift' (which is basically, an image and a small text) which says I won a contest...

Just my opinion tho :/

What good is crystal rewards for regular players when the contests are made for contest pros. The problem that many don't understand is that when some are earning crystals in battles other are doing it in the forum.

We want consistency. Having one time means that players can get into a routine. Constantly changing the time will lead to confusion and lots "wait, what time is the quiz, I thought it was an hour ago?!?!?!?" from players. However, your suggestion has been noted. :)

Maybe because we want the players to have fun?

Sorry but your constructive feedback really isn't very concrete. What you're asking for doesn't really make sense nor does it suit the purpose of the contest.

It's fun for those that did it in a few minutes, not for me, it took me more than 30. I didn't do it when the link was posted, so it was only for a chance to win. I'm not complaining about the time, because if that time is good for you it's okay with me.

My complain is that the challenge appeared to be for all players, when it was not, like you yourself said.

Well if you don't wanna spend time on it, you don't need to. You can't get upset at the players who were quicker than yourself.

The challenge is for all players, it just tests the level of resourcefulness that everyone has and how quickly they can find information. I even added Hints (much to the displeasure of most of my team) to make it easier for the participants.

I'm not upset at the players who did it fast, I'm upset about questions like "who created the original creative league topic", who cares about that!? that doesn't test our knowledge of the game, or the questions about a feature of a fun event. Now questions like "the length of Viking", or like the trick question about mines last week, those are good, I think I even used a calculator last week.

But "don't participate if you don't like" doesn't have an answer for now...

For the sake of fun ...

2 answer should be 75 crystals ?

I think so. I remember it said "5 minutes later", pretty sure during discounts.

Nope. The first MU step costs 200 crystals but with a 50% discount, that's 100 crystals. You had to look closely, you had to find out the first speed-up cost not the first MU step

the first MU step cost is 100 and first speed up cost is 200. The question was 1st MU cost so answer can be 75 or 175. Where you get 100 answer ?

I don't think the question asked for speed up cost.

I recall "MU" too. Not "SU" nor "speed-up".

If that's the case, that was a good one, I guess the lower case of "speed-up" made us less aware of it.

How about the image with the light bulb, how does that symbolize something? I recall it was also used when they asked about ideas.

1) Yep, it was a bit of a confusing question.

2) It was the banner used for the introduction of the Help Site. I put in a series of answers that were also similar to the image, which seemed to really throw some people.
