Yes, there were a total of 8 differences but one simply extended over two cells. Don’t worry about it. See this post for all the information:

For one of the questions, we noticed a slight discrepancy. For this reason, we are accepting a TOTAL of 9 differences MAXIMUM. The intended difference was meant to be only for one box but slightly reaches the next box, for this reason we are accepting entrants who entered both cells. This does NOT mean that you have to find 9 differences and this does not affect any previous participants, so relax. :)

If you find yourself certainly having 9 differences, then you might just have gotten the accidental one. We felt this was the fairest option to deal with this problem, instead of completely ignoring the question.

You slightly misunderstood. There was no "mistake," just a discrepancy. For this reason, we allowed you to either:

1) Pick only the unintentional difference

2) Pick only the cell next to the unintentional difference

3) Pick both.

It was top left, there was a mini wall that extended out 1 and a bit cells. It was only supposed to go out by 1.
