XT Skins

 

Today you need Premium (however you get it) and 500,000 crystals. Maybe you get a super mission, but for most players that 500k is the minimum cost of entry - it's also the max since most folks can get Premium for little to no outlay of real money.

 

Who thinks they will be able to equip an XT Skin after the coming change for 500,000? Anyone?

 

No, I expect XT Skins to move into the shop. Just look at the last year plus of the shop. XT Skins make sense to cost real money only.

 

In the unlikely event hat XT Skins are available for crystals, I expect 750,000 to be the lowest price.

 

Both options would be accompanied by the creation of the COMPLETE XT SET to stir up interest.

 

Those of you with 500k to spare :blink: - get that XT now, and don't drop a single MU into it!

Why you are making the game pay2win even more? Some players really like XTs and it makes sense to buy them if you have enough M4s.

 

Premium isn't that difficult to obtain without spending real money. You can get it from missions, contests, weekend giveaways, livestream giveaways, and other promo code giveaways..... 

 

500K isn't too much at Legend rank. You can easily earn 500K in 2 weeks. All you have to do is to buy premium and play 4-5 hours in melee battles.

 

And MUs... XTs are gonna convert in skins so if you have Railgun M4 and you buy its XT skin, it will be converted into Railgun M4 XT..

Sure, but still a waste since TO will almost certainly NOT add MUs from normal and XT items together when merging.

Will my normal Viking with 0/20 MU become a M4 Viking since my Viking XT is M4 already or will I only get the XT skin on my normal Viking but not the MU. I need to confirm this so I can take advantage of it. :)

In your situation, I think you are safe. Whenever they have monkeyed around with MUs they have been pretty good about merging progress. Remember when some folks got free M4s? For the life of me I can't remember which change that was.

 

What I am not sure of is whether that progress will be completely additive. Will 10MUs +10MUs yield an M4? I'm not so sure they're that generous since those first 10 MU steps are much cheaper than the 11-20 ones

I will never have an XT unless I get it in a super mission. Otherwise way too expensive. I wonder if most XT's you see weren't bought but won in a super mission? Of course I can't imagine anyone buying star paint either.

But there are buyers, no lifers, and high rankers out there who have already reached M4 Garage including full 50% Modules. XTs and fancy paints are status symbols for those guys.

 

I asked Nives about the near term roadmap and XT Skins wasn't on the list, so folks have some time, probably the rest of 2017 to ponder purchasing and XT before the change to Skins. I stand by what I said above - it's almost always better to purchase BEFORE these kinds of changes.

I am over half way to a total upgraded garage (M4) although I have a ways to go. But I am not going to buy something I won't use. For example, if I won an XT Viking I already have fully upgraded one. So It would have to be a skin for me if I was to have one and use it.

So why not buy now for 500k then wait for TO to convert it to a Skin for you?

 

My whole point here is that after the Skin change, Skins will probably 1) only be available in the Shop or 2) cost much more than just 500k crystals. My opinion is that they will become Shop only.

 

Implied before and now explicit is that this only matters if you want the XT Skin. If Skins aren't important to you, don't read this topic. Keep working on those turrets and hulls.

 

For transparency, I have not bought any XTs, nor do I think I will until I hear from Nives that Skins are coming. Like you, I will continue to work on those M4s.

 

But when Skins get close, I want the XT before the change, not after.
