Yeah, I am reading some of the other comments and I think tanki should allow 1 free name change... I know it is a lot of work for them, but there are people who just make a up a stupid name on the fly...

and then we would have to impliment maf's idea about telling people about your name change...

I have seen this in other, much more successful games, or at least the concept. For example, Goodgame Empire has a system where you can relocate your castle in a map for free once, after which you have to pay in premium currency (something like X crystals in Tanki X. Tanki Online is the first game I have seen that does not feature a premium currency. Almost all (if not all) of the really successful games have a premium currency) to relocate your castle.

 

What is good about 'free-for-the-first-time' (a term I coined just now. Genius, right?) is that it provides a kind of a taste of how good the item in question is, hence incentivising potential buyers, while at the same time sparing those careless ones who made a silly mistake (writing Gneder instead of Gender while registering your nickname :P).

If the name was 69_exp, yes it is not obvious that they are not trying to infer this 'hidden' meaning. If i were to become a name cop or something (just for the explanation...) I would look for certain things that would express this hidden meaning. In the previous name you mentioned, 69_XD the name literally implys that they are laughing at the hidden meaning of 69. This, woudl be reported, but something like 69_exp, not so much

this update will enable the thief to manipulate the account ,, like change the nickname without information

Well, if we're dealing with theft of an account, that would be harmful to the account regardless, and a nickname change would probably be the least of your concern. If you're worried about not being able to recover the account because you can't login with your original name, then I guess that's why you should prioritize verifying the account with an e-mail, so you can log in to the account with the e-mail even if the account name was changed...in any case..I guess we shall see :)

If you had read above, the person whose account was stolen can report to tech support using their old known nickname if the hacker changed the nickname. Not hard to get your account back as long as you have evidence to prove it is yours, so always log things if u can, including bans you got, items you bought when etc. They will prove that you are the original account owner and I'm sure you would get your account back that was stolen from you. I am unsure if Tanki will give u the old nick back, or an option for a free nickname change if the hacker changed your nickname.

As for some features, maybe for some inactive nicks, maybe when u choose the nick, it could show that there are certain days till it is officially inactive and you can take it?

Um, I'm pretty sure tanki has a full history of the account, and through purchases etc, tanki can filter out and find your account, they wouldn't be stupid enough to roll out this update if they didn't have such account log history logically speaking. Tanki does have our Karma, so it is safe to assume they have whole account logs, including purchases, name changes, etc.

Changing the nickname does not whatsoever change the gameplay, yes maybe a cooler name will be targeted more often, but no, doesn't impact gameplay.

Why would they not make you pay to change your name. What they do is create a totally different account and just upgrade all of your equipment and make it look exactly like your old one just so you can have a different name cause you hated the one you picked a year a go...

Why should they even have the option to make that switch? That is a time consuming process and you have no right to say they just want our money (Even though they do because that is litereally their job and they need to survive...) DesmondDoss you have no right to say any of this. Their goal is to make Tanki a more friendly place while keeping tankers and making a maximum amount of money...

So here comes the spokesperson! Upgrade all of my equipment? Lol, you forgot your meds buddy! If I want to change the name, I can play and earn the crystals and save them so that I can change the name. It is okay they added it for you, but why they want to remove the "crystal name change" ? If they don't want our money, they should have kept the both crystal and dollar name change method. They are already surviving a lot and they just found another new way. I can say whateva my opinion and thoughts about this, I haven't used any profanity. Tanki a more friendly place for the buyers, a buyer like you. They can make money and I have the privilege to give my thoughts about this. If they have kept both the name change options, I welcome that ! but not this! You don't have any right to stop me from saying what I want to say, you have no authority over me!

Earlier this was a "PlayToWin" Game. Now it has become  a "PayToPlay" game  :mellow:

Now from now we can expect that from time to time all the different parameters of the game will be converted from crystals to real money, one by one. Why don't you change the PLAY button on the homepage to PAY? This suits the game a lot.

 

I mean an alternative did exist. You could modify this system. Like the pass would be available for both crystals and money. That doesn't change the things at least and it's fair on the non buyers' side as well. 

 

Unfortunately the administration didn't think of non buyers while issuing this update. Very Unfair
