Special paints are a buyer feature, but not really that necessary. However, changing nickname is necessary if someone happened to put no thought into choosing their name when they first started playing Tanki. They might have had no idea that they'd end up staying on the game for months or years when they first logged in, so registered with the first name they could think of. 

Apparently other people must make concessions for you if you didn't think while making your account. I don't see why changing your name is necessary. How does it affect your game? Being able to change your name is a privilege, not a right.

How many people here have actually changed their nick? How many had planned to do it  for long time and actually after a year or so still didn't do it!

 

Buyers, who are ready to buy and like shiny stuff such as paint would now be able to have shinny nick too, so what?  Having a shinny name will make "You win more battle"? Don't be ridiculous kids. Furthermore, if buyers spend money on nickname change, they won't spend it on drugs kits, so its a positive change in that case. For free player, what is the reasoning to spend 100k on a new nick anyway, while you could buy MU or better equipment with it and stay head of the game. When we talk about people not being wise when it comes to crystal management, this update is actually going to help those peoples.

 

If you have spend less than 50 hours on the game you should start again with a better nickname. Remember that to reach legend's rank you will need to spend more than 1000 hours on the game. So if you restart now, after 50 hours, with a better nick then you get 2 things: a better nick and some experience of the game so you can perform better than the other noobs. Furthermore you will start with the beginner card (the player will be getting 50% additional experience points and 100% additional crystals from every battle played - pass is active for 3 weeks). With a better start, better equipment and then you progress faster. So it's a win win situation for you. For the others with higher ranks you have a month to get 100K. I made 100K this month, so it is possible for people with my rank to do the same.

 

However it would be a good will gesture to have one name change for free available to all, especially that after 7 years lots of good name are gone, and before they are available again it could take months.

As the system is now automated it should be an easier process. The option could be free when you reach a certain rank, like with about 98k xp  for example. So people get time to look for more suitable nick or just start to love their current nick.

Don't be like this N-A-H: the player  with most nickname changes: 17 changes and 6 times he get back to N-A-H.

I'm here most of time and I see how moderators keep on doing that only whenever a new feature or update is released. I've never seen any moderator/administrator disagreeing with community managers before, and I know what moderators 'fake' job is.

Or, u could also think of it as this way, buyers who occasionally get rekt can instantly purchase the rename pass and change it so no one can lay a finger. Of course, they would then be wasting quite a bit of money :D

It makes me a little sad that you think that. That clearly shows that all the work the helpers have been doing to help and improve the community has gone quite unnoticed.

By the way, whenever I disagree with the community manager, or have a complaint, I just go and talk to him about it. I know, that doesn't make sense at all!

Older moderators have done great job in past improving the community, but nowadays moderators aren't. Most of moderators who have applied for several positions just want to print out their name in the community and get special bonuses in-game, nothing else cooper; I won't mention moderators who have been the best of all time and those who just applied to show off.

 

Edit: btw, why wouldn't you post your feedback (Negative feedback)  here same as everyone then as an moderator/administrator if you complain about some features? It does but not in a specific way, feedback should be sent on the topic itself not to direct message the community manager or whatsoever.

Those times when you see an update with a hopeful and exciting title but turns out to be another bad initiative, this is one of those times. I mean, "Rename Pass" sounded great until I actually read the entire topic on how to purchase one... This is the first time I've seen the majority of staffs' posts on a topic to be negative.
